What's the budget? Are you definitely after an iPhone or any type of smartphone?

What is going wrong with the phones? Are you buying the cheap (under €150 ones)? Bought an iPhone 8 Plus off swappie 18 months ago and it’s flying it. Paid €350 at the time and it’s a super job. I’ve changed the charging port after a year and bought a battery case which is some job. A good Cover and glass screen protector is the life of a phone. By IPhone do you mean smartphone I wonder? iPhone is the specific brand whereas smartphone refers to “touch screen” phones. As the poster above said - what’s your budget? Generally Refurbs are good value.

if its breaking in that timeframe take them back assuming you have 12 month warranty and not buying them "out the back of a lorry"

Take a look at CAT phones admittly they are android n not an "I phone" but I've not managed to break mine . And I could break a rock.
Water proof, sh*t proof, break proof have dropped mine out me top pocket leaning out the window of the Scania, it bounced...

An Iphone in a good otterbox case is as good as any 'toughphone' imo

Agreed. I fine them very tough. I never have broke one and usually have them nearly 2 years before I change. Had a 4 then a 6 then a 8 then an 11 and now on a 13. Never let me down.

The father has a CAT phone and it’s fine if you’re not bothered about a “nice to use” phone. Works perfect but it ain’t an iPhone. +1 for the otterbox. They’re sore the first day you buy them though

I have a quadlock case on a s22 ultra, it's got a serious hopping off the ground several times and survived. The docking clamp on the back is a great job, have the bracket mounted beside the screen on the tractor.

Best smart phone I ever had by far was the Huawei, can’t get them anymore as suspicions the Chinese were using them for spying ( probably just Apple lobbied the governments to ban a competitor )

I assume it’s the charging port that’s the issue so. Those can be changed unless your dog rough with them. Otter boxes have a special rubber flat covering the changer port. Or if you go with an ordinary flip case (not wallet type) with no charger gap

Same as that, had a p30 pro, for over 3 years and let it fall out of my pocket on the quad and made bits of it. There was a serious battery in it.

Or a pin, I had a Blackview supposedly tough phone, heavy enough, took a fall one day from hip height and something let go inside it, end of. Cheap and cheerfull Xaomi Redmi unlocked now, cost €150 and it does me fine.

nope. thats just down to the phone being in the pocket. bits of lint and dust from work would cause issues. good tell tale sign the port is gunked up is if the chrager is not "clicking" into place and the phone is not charging right. a shaved toothpick, some light and some patience, you'd have it back to normal

I put my iPhone 8 on one of those pads for charging overnight and it works fine. It has a slimline Otterbox cover and no issue changing through it.
I did have a chunkier Otterbox on my previous iPhone, great cover but plugged in the charger to that one.
Only time I use the port is for headphones the odd occasion.

Bluetooth headphones…..they’ll change your life!!!! I wish I knew that last week when I changed my case- last one charged fine on the pad but new case is chunkier and won’t work on it 🤬
