Rosaria Character Overview

Rosaria dislikes talking about topics that bore her and working overtime, which makes it seem like she's a lazy person in the eyes of the sisterhood of The Church of Mondstadt. Rosaria is a versatile character who can fill either the main DPS and sub DPS role should the situation require it. She's a character that fits a lot of team compositions, especially those that need crit rate.

How to Get Rosaria

Rosaria can be obtained through wishing on the Standard Banner or the Character Banner. The best possible way to get Rosaria is to wait for her rate up in the character banner, which will offer a much higher chance of obtaining her.

Rosaria Combat Details

Rosaria's role in the party can either be the main DPS or a sub DPS depending on team composition. Due to this, investing in her is a very good idea especially if you tend to lean on team compositions that value crit rate.

Rosaria falls into the unique category of one of the only characters that increase the party's crit rate reliability due to her Ascension passives.

  • Element: Cryo
  • Weapon: Polearm
  • Rarity: 4-star

Rosaria Talents and Recommended Skill Upgrade Priorities

Rosaria's talents revolve around boosting crit rate and dealing cryo damage. Rosaria's elemental burst is also a good tool to trigger elemental reactions that need cryo, while she's not in the field. All in all, she's a very versatile character that can adjust to most situations.

TypeNameEffect
Normal AttackSpear of the Church
  • Normal Attack: Performs up to five rapid strikes
  • Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to enemies along the way.
  • Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental SkillRavaging ConfessionRosaria swiftly positions herself behind her opponent, then pierces and slashes the enemy with her polearm, dealing Cryo DMG. Rosaria cannot use this travel behind opponents of a larger build.
Elemental BurstRites of TerminationRosaria's unique take on this prayer ritual. First, she swings her weapon to slash surrounding enemies; then, she summons a frigid Ice Lance that strikes the ground. Both actions deal Cryo damage. While active, the Ice Lance periodically releases a blast of cold air, dealing Cryo DMG to surrounding enemies.
First Ascension PassiveRegina ProbationumWhen Rosaria strikes an opponent from behind using Ravaging Confession, Rosaria's CRIT Rate increases by 12% for 5s.
Fourth Ascension PassiveShadow SamaritanCasting Rites of Termination increases CRIT Rate of all nearby party members (except Rosaria herself) by 15% of Rosaria's CRIT Rate for 10s. Rosaria's CRIT Rate Bonus gained this way cannot exceed 15%.
Utility PassiveNight WalkAt night (18:00 - 6:00), increases the Movement SPD of your own party members by 10%. Does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or Spiral Abyss. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the same effects.

Rosaria's elemental skill, Ravaging Confession, doesn't work on Ruin Guards and larger bodies. The tallest mob it works on are the Mitachurls (those axe-wielding hilichurls).

The recommended skill upgrade priorities for a main DPS Rosaria is as follows:

  • Normal Attack
  • Elemental Burst
  • Elemental Skill

For a Rosaria that leans more on support, the recommended skill priority is:

  • Elemental Burst
  • Elemental Skill
  • Normal Attack

This is due to the fact that since a sub DPS Rosaria won't be on the field as long as a main DPS Rosaria, you'd want to focus on her elemental burst as it stays on the field even if Rosaria is swapped out.

Rosaria Constellations

Rosaria's Constellations improve her kit drastically and since she's only a 4-star character, getting her constellations won't be that much of a problem. The ones to keep an eye on are C1, C2, C4, and C6.

NameEffect
Unholy Revelation (C1)When Rosaria deals a CRIT Hit, her ATK SPD increases by 10% and her Normal Attack DMG increases by 10% for 4s.
Land Without Promise (C2)The duration of the Ice Lance created by Rites of Termination is increased by 4s.
The Wages of Sin (C3)Increases the Level of Ravaging Confession by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
Painful Grace (C4)Ravaging Confession's CRIT Hits regenerate 5 Energy for Rosaria. Can only be triggered once each time Ravaging Confession is cast.
Last Rites (C5)Increases the Level of Rites of Termination by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
Divine Retribution (C6)Rites of Termination's attack decrease opponents' Physical RES by 20% for 10s.

Best Rosaria Character Builds

When it comes to building the best possible characters in Genshin Impact, we have found that there are typically only one or two different ways to build an effective character.

As we have mentioned above, Rosaria excels in boosting the crit rate of the whole party while dealing as much damage as she could. For this reason, we recommend building Rosaria as you would build a normal DPS.

In terms of selecting the best Weapons and Artifacts, we have listed and detailed several potential options below that we believe fit Rosaria best.

Best Weapons for Rosaria

Rosaria has a lot of choices for Polearms but here are the best ones:

Weapon NameIn-Game Description
Dragonspine SpearHitting an opponent with Normal and Charged Attacks has a 60~100% chance of forming and dropping an Everfrost Icicle above them, dealing 80~140% AoE ATK DMG. Opponents affected by Cryo are dealt 200~360% ATK DMG instead by the icicle. Can only occur once every 10s.
Skyward SpineIncreases CRIT Rate by 8~16% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vacuum blade that deals 40~100% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.
Favonius LanceCRIT hits have a 60~100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12~6s.

Dragonspine Spear is by far the best weapon for a main DPS Rosaria while Favonius Lance might be a good choice if you're planning to make her a sub DPS.

Best Artifacts for Rosaria

The go-to artifact set for Rosaria is the Blizzard Strayer. With that set, crit rate is already increased by 20% giving you more options for artifact options and weapons so you don’t reach over the crit rate threshold.

Artifact NameIn-Game Description
Bloodstained Chivalry
  • 2-piece: Physical DMG +25%
  • 4-piece: After defeating an opponent, increases Charged Attack DMG by 50%, and reduces its stamina cost to 0 for 10 seconds.
Gladiator's Finale
  • 2-piece: ATK+18%
  • 4-piece: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.
Noblesse Oblige
  • 2-piece: Elemental Burst DMG +20%
  • 4-piece: Using an Elemental Burst increase all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
Blizzard Strayer
  • 2-piece: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece: When a character attacks an enemy affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the enemy is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.

Bloodstained Chivalry and Gladiator’s Finale are for Physical DPS builds. You’d want to go for 2 Bloodstained and 2 Chivalry for that. Noblesse Oblige and Blizzard Strayer are for Sub-DPS builds. You’d also go 2 Noblesse and 2 Blizzard for that build. If you have no other characters wielding Noblesse Oblige in your party, you can also opt-in for a 4 piece Noblesse Oblige.

For artifact main stats, you’d want to go for ATK and CRIT DMG. Same for the sub stats as a low attack will not help your crit damage at all.
