We called in a pinch tonight when our toilet (the only one in the apartment!) was clogged and none of our at home methods worked! We had a plumber at our door within the hour (at 11pm)! He was extremely professional and efficient. Had our toilet up and running in no time. Would highly recommend this service if you need emergency plumbing!

We called to have the T&P valve replaced on our electric water heater. They said that someone would be able to come out the next day... great! Mind you they did let me know that it would be a $100 fee for just coming out even if they did no work. That was no problem since we looked into prices of replacing this part and figured it would not be over about $200-$250. The licensed plumber comes here, confirms that it is the T&P valve that needs to be replaced. The part was $41 (100% up charge from what you can buy online or in stores). Not too bad but still pricey. Now the kicker is for the 15-20 minutes of work that was done we paid $469 in labor fees! That's insane. Not to mention a part of that 20 minutes was spent with me turning on the hot water and letting it run. I would not recommend. Our technician was nice and helped us out with a coupon. Since we were new to any type of plumbing work we were extremely shocked with the price and would have gladly gone elsewhere knowing what we know now.

Roto-Rooter sent a plumper to my house within one hour. The plumper Joe (7818) was amazing and very informative. As a first time home buyer he made this horrible situation very easy to deal with.

The two guys who came we very professional and knowledgeable. They were efficient and very unobtrusive which I appreciate because it was late at night and I have 3 kids. They did quality work and were courteous and I ended up paying exactly what they quoted.

The Roto-Rooter Service Tech, Joe Rocca, was the most personable and communicative contractor we've had in here in a long time. He explained everything to us, step by step, in an easy-to-understand style. He listened to our concerns and answered all our questions. Even though he discovered a problem that would require some excavation work in our front lawn, which gave us pause, he gave us confidence that the situation was well understood and the work would be done correctly and promptly. He was right. Joe is a real asset to your company.

Roto Rooter answers the phone and they show up. That's a lot more than most plumbing services. Their estimates were accurate and they got the job done promptly. While I thought one of the technicians I dealt with far more qualified than the other, that is the case in many businesses. In the end I am a satisfied customer. My water is running!

The whole Roto- Rooter team did a great job. Joe from Malden worked many hours to unclog my toilet and take care of my problem. The next day my water Restoration Team consisting of Tom (Sales), Jay (Lead Tech), and Marvin (Tech) put in a Herculean effort to finish their part of the job the same day. Tom, contacted my Insurance Company, started a claim and my agent set up an appointment with in 24 hours to visit my home. The price is rather steep (nearly $400 on a normal workday during the day), the technician took about an hour to come after he had given us a call (on a number different from the one that I had submitted with our request) promising to be there in about 10 minutes. The service itself, however, was completely satisfactory, the drain was cleared completely and the bathroom left clean afterwards. The technician (Ron) also was very friendly and courteous.

Elie from Roto Rooter came recently and was knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue in no time at all. Turned out to be a relatively simple fix and he took time to explain the issue and answered all questions I had for him. I would highly recommend the service to anyone looking for drain assistance.

I will say that Roto-Rooter came quickly the day I needed them to and was able to unclog my drain pipe. They were fast & professional. Unfortunately, they gave me a quote of $39,300 to replace a drain pipe which was exorbitantly high in comparison to others. When I spoke to the City of Boston and other drain companies, they informed me that Roto-Rooter overcharges. I was shocked how much they were asking for. They also told me I needed to have my entire drain pipe replaced because of root damage. When getting a second opinion from a second company and Boston Water & Sewer, they determined I didn't need to have the pipe replaced as it had no visible breaks or holes— saving my neighbor and I thousands of dollars. Buyer beware— Roto-Rooter just wants to drain peoples bank accounts.

Ignasio was incredibly helpful, professional and dedicated to solving the plumbing issue we had (severely clogged drain from cooking oil). He stayed with us for several hours determined to finding a solution, on New Year’s Day of all days!! He got the sink working again and we can’t be more appropriative of his patience, professionalism and kindness.

They were very responsive. I scheduled the afternoon before and got an appt the next morning. The tech was very friendly and solved the problem fairly quickly. I wish they told you the prices online or told you prior to coming (I didn't see anything prior). Was more than I expected but definitely needed the service done!

They came and clean the sink drainage. I haven't used it yet. I have a month to try it and make sure they did a good job.

Please be advised that while being pretty expensive and pricey for the service provided, I feel that the timeliness, punctuality and quality of Roto-Rooter's work was terrific. I made contact with them via e-mail at 02:00 a.m., making an on-line appointment for the early-afternoon that same day. The plummer arrived on-time and on-schedule and they also placed a call to me 30 minutes prior to their arrival. All in all, the experience was pretty good. Romaine was excellent, he came to my house earlier than the appointment time. A call was made to me to see if that was ok. He explained everything he was doing. Although I found the service very expensive, it was completely smooth from requesting service online (even has evening hours!) to when Carl left! He was so professional and friendly!

the person whom took the initial call did not take the time to listen to my concerns and issues I had and was not able to give me and approx estimate and when technician got here they quoted me for almost a $1000 to reseat my toilet so it did rock (no leaks) and snake my sink) something I have done myself but just got out of the hospital and was not in good health to do and only took me about an hour and a half!I had to pay them $70 for a trip fee just to walk in and out, approx 10 minutes.I do not recommend! Use a local business if it's a small job you can do yourself and just can't get to for whatever reason or other dependable business that will take their time with you and not waste your time.Needless to say they did not come within their 8-12 window so I wasted my day!

I was in desperate need for a plumber today. I called Rotor Rooter and was given a same day estimated time of arrival. Lucky for me. The main office called and asked if the plumber could arrive earlier than schedule. Of course I agreed. He arrived. Was exceptionally polite. Cleared my drain in no time at all. Left my bathroom spotless! I am extremely pleased with the service.Happy to have called Rotor-Rooter. I give two thumbs up!

Professional repairmen that came out. Talked real talk about what was going on and options I had. Also told me to talk to the city because they may pay for my issues. Not the fastest service, but they did a complete and thorough job, which is obviously much more important.Lost one star for scheduling, I had a meeting until 1pm, told the operator that, and she scheduled them for 1pm. They showed up 10 minutes early as well. Could have used a bit more wiggle room, but considering they were very friendly and patient for me to return I really didn't mind.

Joseph Emory #7818 was our technician. He was professional and on time. He explained everything that needed to be done in detail and repaired what he could. He explained what we need to do going foward.

We had our main pipe clogged. The emergency service was incredibly prompt. Ronnie (technician- 5692) was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He made a quick diagnosis and was able to resolve the problem. Excellent service

We called when a DIY project went sideways and Charles came in. He was professional, upfront and personable. He got the issue fixed in a timely manner and more importantly done right! I’m grateful for his experience, expertise and advice.And while the sticker price was a tad shocking (but not necessarily surprising but that the rep going in about Roto Rooter), overall the was worth the price.

They arrived within a couple hours of our service call (in spite of heavy volume). Steve was very helpful and explained what he was going to do before starting. He cleared the clogged drain within a half hour and was very tidy so there wasn't any mess to clean up. He also offered some helpful tips on how to prevent clogs going forward and was very friendly. The standard fee seemed a bit expensive although I don't have much to compare it to.All in all very professional and fast.

Gilbert and Tony were great! When they arrived, my entire house was on shutdown and everything was backed up. They took one look and told me what the problem was. My main drain pipe was clogged! They were very professional, Efficient and offered detailed description of everything they did. They fixed my problem and even cleaned after themselves! I am one happy customer. Eric Benoit did an excellent job in cleaning the drain from kitchen sink out to septic tank on 9/28/22. He also detected a leak in the bathroom drainpipe, assessed the condition of the pipes from kitchen catch basin to septic and estimated the cost of replacing these pipes. Eric and Dan returned on Friday, 9/30/22 to replace said pipes, and they did an outstanding job. Their work ethic was excellent. They went over and above what they were expected to do and helped us in keeping our pipes in working order. They were friendly and polite. Their estimate was almost to the dollar! They are highly recommended!

Mike, the Tech that came to our home was unbelievably good! Having tried to clear the clog myself the day before I told him where in the pipe I thought it was located. He concurred, leading me (and Mike) to believe it would be a straight forward quick fix. Four and a half to five hours later Mike had isolated and fixed the problem. Without getting too deep into the details, each time I thought it was fixed Mike wasn't satisfied. He said that even though the toilet flushed he thought that the problem might come back and he wanted to make sure his solution was permanent. He checked/cleared about 75' to 80' of drain even though the initial clog was only 10' from the toilet and still wasn't satisfied until he could hear the water flowing smoothly the entire length of the pipe and through every junction and turn. He gave us an upfront flat rate quote which matched the final billing. The worksite was left immaculate, better than when he showed up. He also offered several suggestions for preventing the sludge build up. And most importantly he was an all around good guy.

The technician came very quickly after the original call to the call center. He explained everything in the beginning and what he had to do to unclog my main drain line. There were likely roots growing in the main pipeline and that is what he removed to clear it. He cleaned up afterwards and was very professional and courteous and very pleasant to talk to. I was happy to have someone come out within the same day of our problem, however, the same problem came back within 2 weeks and we needed to make another service call. Luckily it was covered under the initial 6 month guaranty and the person who came, Mike, was very helpful in fixing the problem as well as offering advice on other maintenance products that might help our situation.

I had a major issue with my plumbing where the main drain pipe to the sewer was unsupported, falling and causing my sinks, toilet, etc to back up. The team came by and assessed, gave me an estimate and were able to fix it the next day. The guys were professional and very informational on what needed to be done. I highly recommend.

I will never use another plumbing company again! It was a Sunday morning, and we suspected that there was a blockage in one of our pipes which was causing our toilet to clog. I did a quick Google search and found Rotor-Rooter, and based on the positive reviews, I figured I would give them a try! When I called, I explained the issue I suspected we were having and asked if they would be able to help, and if so, when was the earliest they could come asses the situation. The woman I spoke to said she could send someone that day, anytime that was most convenient for me and my schedule. She also said that the plumber would asses the situation for no charge, and if the plumber felt this was something they could help with, they'd explain our options and prices at that time, but we were still not obligated to move forward with the fix. I scheduled a two hour window with her and she said the plumber would call me when they were on their way. The plumber called to let me know he was running a bit behind schedule and said he'd be a little late. I was so appreciative that he let me know, and didn't leave me guessing as to where he was. When Ron (#5592) arrived, he said he would asses the situation at no cost. After the assessment he'd then let us know what the options were, and if we didn't want him to do the work, we weren't obligated to. He assessed the situation and gave us two options: he could remove the blockage without taking the toilet apart OR if he couldn't remove the block, then he would take the toilet apart to find the blockage (but only charge us IF he found something). Unfortunately for us, he found a blockage so we had to pay a bit more :). However, he then went above and beyond and shared with us why the problem might have happened in the first place, and offered a few solutions for how we could prevent it in the future. We were grateful that Roto-Rooter (and Ron) were able to help us, especially on a Sunday!

I'm very pleased with the Roto-Rooter service beginning with the initial customer service person. Because I had a previous service call, I was courteously addressed by name upon calling and the appointment was set up. It was 1:30 and the service call was set up for arrival between 3:30 and 5:30 which was great. I was relieved to see the truck arrive on time! The service person was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He took care of the drain problem, cleaned up the area and gave me advice to prevent a future problem. Very happy.

Great prompt service. About an hour from first call to arrival, with a status call from RR in between. Joe was very courteous and ensured that any mess was contained. Also had some great tips for preventative maintenance that could reduce further problems.

I had a sink that wouldn’t drain. The representative came and fixed it very quickly. He was professional and courteous. He also gave me some enzymes to help prevent clogs in the future. There was also a six month warranty included as well.

It did have a lifetime guarantee though for the work. He was very nice and on time - he made me get into the video to prove to his boss that I was there while he did the camera - so the video went back to the home office. He said he could not give me a copy of the video.0/5 I tried to follow up with the company to get the video of my sewer pipe. They said it was a courtesy and I was unable to even pay to obtain this video. I need this video to claim - I asked them to let me know how much it would cost to have them come out again to do the video but they never followed up despite multiple calls from me. I will be hiring another company to re-do the camera of the line and get competitive quotes.

When I called to schedule a technician to unclog the drain in my kitchen sink I also inquired about price and was told the technician would give an estimate. When my technician Zach arrived he was not only late, he also demanded that he take his break before any work could be done. When he told me the rate to fix the clog it was several hundred dollars more than it should have been, but I was in a pinch and needed the drain unclogged. From now on I’ll call a local plumber and never make the mistake of calling Roto-Rooter again.

Tried everything to unclog the sink. Called Roto-Rooter and they were here the next day. Elie #8573 showed up, listened to what we tried to do. He explained to us what could be wrong, up front with costs depending on what happens. Professional, pleasant, did his thing with no mess. Mike came and was amazing! He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. I have a very old house with some old plumbing but Mike was able to quickly assess the situation and able to unclog my main sewer line without any issues. He explained everything very well and was very personable. Highly recommend Mike and the rotor rooter team!!

Joe came out on a Sunday to Cape Cod during the height of the tourist season, when it’s usually impossible to get service. We were updated by phone as to when he would arrive. He explained to us everything he would do to try to clear a clog in our main sewer line. After inspecting all pipes in basem*nt crawl spaces he discovered the clog in pipes under an outside deck leading to our septic. He cleared the clog though it was not an easy job. He was patient, hard working and was not going to give up until he solved the issue. With all the visitors we have during the summer season, we could not function without working toilets and showers, even for a day, so we highly recommend Roto Rooter if you need help!

I called Roto Rooter after about a week of slow draining/clogged toilets. I made the call at about 815 am. I was told a technician would be available to come by before 11am. Around 930 am I received a curtsey call letting me know that they were very busy and had pushed the time to Noon. John arrived around 1130. Came in and checked out both bathrooms. He explained my options and costs and then got to work. He worked quick, was very professional and personable. I would recommend John Diamantides (#15534 & #15435) to anyone. He successfully pulled out a toy truck that one of the boys flushed down the toilet! Expensive but worth it in the end.

Technician showed up as agreed. We decided since we were planning to replace the entire shower stall in August, that we we forego an additional investment at this time.thank you for your prompt attention.

Needed our outdoor drains cleaned and called Rotor Rooter. Tech told me it would cost $1700 for 2 hours for 3 drains to be cleaned, then $875 per hour after that. This was on the phone. They didn’t even see or look at the drains. Decided to cancel and call Rapid Flow and they came out and said my drains were clean. I had a dry well (or something like that) and that was the reason they were overflowing during heavy rain. They saved me 1700+. Rapid Flow all the way!

The plumber was excellent and left the work area spotless. However, my appointment was scheduled for 8-10am. I received a call at 9:15 telling me it would be at least another 1-1.5 hours before a plumber could arrive. I rescheduled the service for 12:30-2:30 that day and by 2:30 no one had arrived so I called and was put on hold for several minutes and was told it would be another half hour before anyone could arrive. It appeared to me that when I rescheduled someone forgot to put the call out to the plumber. The plumber was very apologetic when he arrived and as I said he did a good job, but I did waste much of the day waiting for him to arrive.

Called on a Wednesday evening for a clogged sewage drain, they said they'd send a technician between 8-12 AM the next day. He did not arrive until 5pm. Technician worked very hard but not able to unclog despite making big mess including removal of toilet, had to pay $300 for this unsuccessful attempt. Said we needed to have the Jet water system to unclog. Arranged to have this done for for $900 the next day (1 hour, and hten $300 for an additional 1 that might be needed). At this point, had enough of roto rooter ripping us off so called another plumber (drain doctor) who came the following day and unclogged for using a different kind of snake that actually removes stuff rather than just pushes it forward for $250.

I was very pleased with the service technician ,who received my call. His name was Ron, #5592. He arrived promptly, within, the time frame that was mentioned, when, I place my call. He was pleasant and helpful. and did a good job ,fixing the problem. I would recommend , this company, to people, I know.

Turned out to be a bigger job than expected but Sean & Dominic we’re very helpful answering all my questions, explaining how the repair would be done, & very polite during the whole process.

First I called a competitor and they told me they could not get anyone out on a Sunday. I called rotto rooter on Sunday morning and they were here before noon time. I was stressed out about the situation and Charles repeatedly told me not to worry. They knew exactly what to do, what tools to use, they were clean and professional. If they did make a mess they were sure to tell me they'd clean it up before they left. They successfully unclogged our drain, helped us understand what products to use to maintain the pipes and they cleaned the sink, under the sink and their work area throughly before leaving.I thought that Charles was thoughtful, careful in our home, clean and professional. I did not expect this level of service or customer experience from a such a large company and I was impressed. From my first phone call with their booking department to the actual service, they earned a A+!

LIFE SAVERS!! My toilet decided to overflow during 4th of July celebrations. With no other bathrooms and guests at my apartment it was a total chaos. I called like 10 plumbers and no one could come until I called Roto-Rooter who came to the rescue. They got to my place in less than an hour and took less than ten minutes to fixed the mess. Our experience with Rotorooter has been excellent. We have had to call them 3 - maybe 4 - times in the last 5 years. The technician arrived within an hour. We called Roto Rooter to help when water began flowing back into our basem*nt from the septic line. Our technician Joe came quickly and began to solve the issue. We loved his awesome attitude and his willingness to teach us about our system while he worked. In over two hours he spent at our home, he unclogged our sewer line, explained possible issues, located our septic tank, confirmed it did not need to be pumped, and suggested next steps to prevent future issues. Before he left, he cleaned the work area thoroughly and refilled the hole in our yard from digging up the septic lid. We would absolutely recommend Roto Rooter and specifically Joe for these types of service calls. Top notch service!

We called on a Sunday with a clogged Sewage pipe. They were out that day to get water flow the next day they had a camera in the pipe and by the next day had all repairs done and the pipe fully opened up to 4 again with a sock installed where there had been 3' of roots glugging the pipe. They worked fast and clean and they stand behind their work.

Gary was able to fit us into his schedule, he was quick, effective, and personable. He fixed our problem and educated us on how we can better take care of our bathtub pluming based on the kind of system and pipping we have. I had a main drain clog 100' deep. I called Roto-Rooter and Joseph Emory was the tech that came...I could not have been luckier. He was on time, professional, talked me through everything, and took care of the problem. Very personable, could not have asked for a better experience.

When we needed some repair work done in the 'loo, Hubby looked up plumbers in the yellow pages and told me Roto Rooter was coming - I thought all they did was clogs. Nope, the gentleman who arrived was a real plumber, and he was great. Reasonable, personable (as hubby is one of those guys who hangs around while the work is being done, lol), and thorough. I found the price to be fair - it wasn't cheap but I wasn't expecting cheap, I wanted a quality repair done right and expected to pay for it, and that's exactly what we got. In addition, I am always grateful for a repairman who does not fix something that does not need fixing, and that was the case this time. No padding the bill. This builds trust - we will call on Roto Rooter again.

Gilbert showed up and was super nice. Very professional and explained all that he did very well. He got 22 years of sludge cleared from the pipe in no time and showed me how to use the enzyme he provided. Also recommended some washer hose filters for my laundry room. I was impressed with his professionalism and courtesy. I’d recommend him any day! Left the place clean and tidy.

I have a 3 family home and have many plumbing problems usually at odd hours. Roto Rooter is always reliable, arrives when they say they will and is prepared to solve the problem. The last problem was Sunday evening, 5:00 PM, water backing up in the second floor sink. Technician #5592 arrived within the window of time stated by the dispatcher and went right to work, solving the problem within 45 minutes. The solution involved many trips up and down several flights of stairs, checking all 3 apartments, all without complaint. The technician was very polite, clear and quickly solved the problem. His easy, competent demeanor makes it a pleasure to have him in my home.

After 24 hours attempting to unblock our kitchen sink drain, using ever available method, we finally called Roto-Rooter. The service tech, Ron, showed up at 9pm as scheduled, quickly evaluated the situation and quoted the price. He was both professional and friendly, and completed the work in short order. He also provided us recommendations for drain maintenance going forward so we won’t get into this predicament again.

Our bathtub drain was clogged and our attempt to clear it with a snake failed. We called Roto Rooter and Joe came within the hour. We found him to be knowledgeable and pleasant and he explained that the clog (mostly hair) was in the part of the pipes that curve. It took him 20 minutes to unplug it. We were very happy with the timeliness and the level of service but were taken aback by the cost - $415.

RotoRooter never quote you on the phone I (not even a rough estimate) however they will send someone to your home. Their strategy ( scam) is that they will give you a 4 hour window, make you take a day off from work if necessary, get you exhausted and tired from waiting an waiting and when the technician arrives , they will shoot you with a high price . Now because you are so tired and don't want to take another day off you ll end up paying no matter what and get your pipes working. Every thing is carefully calculated. They wont tell you that their estimate starts at $450 for a 15 minute snaking job!. is n't that a rip off and you start wondering if you hired a surgeon to unclog your pipes not some rotorooter technician. Its ok to make money but not this way Rototrooter!

The two guys from Roto-Rooter fully explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate range. The job was completed at the lower range of the estimate and I'm told I have a 6 month warranty on the work. A bit better clean-up would have garnered 5 stars but nevertheless quite satisfied.

On Sunday afternoon all systems were backing up. We called our regular plumber and got no reply - so we called Roto-Rooter. We got a rapid response on the phone and someone arrived at our door well within the time window. The person quickly determined the location of our access pipe that had been burried in our flower bed. Then he unclogged our sewer line and we were flushing again. I had the feeling that I was dealing with a real professional.

My bathroom sink had a slice in a flexible tube and we could not get the old one off. Bill (3462) and Frank (3614) came and put a new pvc connector on, but the water was not draining properly, so they cleared the drain and now everything is working great. they both were awesome. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and respectful and explained everything they were doing. He replaced 3 outdoor faucets, one of which was very difficult to access and he found the least intrusive way to repair. The scheduling office was professional, booking and confirming appt well and I was able to get an appt quickly. I would definitely recommend.

He mentioned he came from a nightmare job and proceeded to take it out on me. He actually asked me why I installed a 1000 gallon septic tank instead of a 1500 gallon. The house is older than I am. He had no respect for my house tracking mud throughout it. He flooded my laundry room by leaving the drain hose on the ground. He made a terrible situation worse.Bottom line: If you’re in a pinch, they will show up rather quickly. Prepare to pay for it. I’m giving this 2 stars strictly on the availability and arrival time. I will never use this service again.

I was unsure of what the problem was before he arrived but he determined the problem and fixed another one very quickly. Other than I felt the service charge was high ($239), the service was prompt and Roy was great.

The night before Thanksgiving around 11:30 at night, I found out that the main drain to my house had a major clog and water began to back up into the basem*nt. I could not use any water (including flushing toilets) until the clog was no longer. I had 20 guests coming for Thanksgiving dinner at 12pm Thanksgiving Day!! My plumber was not doing emergency calls so I called RotoRooter's 24 hour emergency service. I was not the only one in need but through reassurance they said they would be there in time for me to still be able to finish preparing and serve dinner as planned. As you can imagine, I was very anxious. I phoned 2 times during the early morning to check on E.T.A.. The dispatcher was not only pleasant but made me feel at ease during a very stressful situation. Happy to say the plumber arrived by 10:15 am. He was very courteous, professional and was able to unclog the pipe by 11:20. My first guests arrived at 12pm. My Thanksgiving went off as planned. Our 1st floor toilet started overflowing late Saturday afternoon. Then we noticed all 3 of our toilets would back when flushed. We were without water and were possibly going to be forced to stay in a hotel. We immediately called Roto-Rooter and Stephen Dallalis was at our home less than 30 minutes later. He knew there was a blockage, quickly found and opened our septic system. Less than 15 minutes later the blockage was found by his rooter and started clearing it right away. He did a great job and we were able to stay in our home instead of having to stay at a hotel since he arrived so quickly. I would highly recommend them if you're having a problem.

I highly recommend Roto-Rooter. They were out within 2 hours of my initial call, very professional and courteous. My experience with the Roto-Rooter group was great. I called the main line for service in the morning after several failed attempts to clear a clogged shower drain. After draino didn't work, I knew the only other option was to snake the drain and get rid of the clog manually. Within an hour of calling the main service line, I received a call stating that the service technician would arrive at my house within the hour. Our service technician, Mike, was polite, friendly, and most importantly informative. He explained exactly what the likely cause of the drain clog was an went over some ways to prevent clogs in the future which was great. He also explained all the risks associated with snaking the drain. Within 30 minutes the drain was free of the clear, thanks to the motorized pipe snake and Mike's expertise. One of the most reassuring things about roto-rooter is that they guarantee that the drain will remain clog free for 6 months. That is great piece of mind. Although roto-rooter was a tab bit more expensive than an average local plumber, the general know how, speed of job completion, and the guarantee made up for the higher cost. They fixed our plumbing problem, a gasket and seal issue with microtech and then snaked the bathtub. My technician Augustine 3194 was truly a godsend. He came in on time and explained every step of the process he was to perform. It was a complicated job with not only the sewer drain but the problems with the space and other tenants. Most technicians would have turned away but Augustine stuck it out and 4 hours later he cleared everything and then provided an update to prevent future issues. He worked his tail off and I am so happy with the work and professionalism Augustine provided and highly recommend him.

Only issue for me was that they “don’t give pricing over the phone” and the technician said the price for drain clearing was a standard flat rate of $489. Pretty steep and I probably would have shopped around if I had known that was the price. I suppose I understand why they don’t give prices before they get there!

On 12/20/2019 called Roto-rooter after main drain to city became clogged. Called very late on a Friday afternoon and was guaranteed someone would come out to repair. Service technician Ron #5592 promptly came out and assessed the situation and quickly got to work.Ron did not want to make a mess and when he drained the excess water he disposed of it outside until drain was clear and he could unclog the drain.Ron unclogged the drain to the main line and then unclogged in the opposite direction to make sure entire drain was clear. He then ran water to make sure it went down the drain with no issues. He then ran the tool in the drain a 2nd time to make sure he got all the debris.He cleaned up after himself and made sure the main drain was closedsecurely and ran the water again.Excellent service and very professional technician that did a very thorough job. Wareham, MA location (replacement of main septic pipe): Fast response time; reliable and dependable team (original service provider who identified the problem as well as the excavation/repair team). Very courteous and professional. They may cost a bit more than private plumbers, but worth every penny because they are available quickly when needed (and when your main septic pipe is damaged, it's not something that can wait!). Poor guys worked in the rain to excavate on a Friday so that we didn't have to wait over the weekend until Monday for a functional septic system. Can't express our appreciation enough! Honest, as well: when the work came in under the original estimate, they reduced the final invoice to about two-thirds of the.original estimate. Excellent experience and highly recommended service provider.

Excellent service. The toilet my 93-year-old mother uses became plugged and we needed immediate attention to the problem. Gilbert arrived within the 2-hour time frame we were given when we placed the call, and he was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He immediately understood the problem and how to fix it. Prior to starting work, he reviewed the costs of the repair, so we know what we were getting into. The costs were high, but the plugged toilet HAD to be fixed so we went ahead with repairs. Gilbert completed the work, cleaned up the area and we will definitely ask for him again if we need any further plumbing work. Gilbert defiantly gets a 5-star rating!!! The ONLY reason this entire review isn't a 5-star rating is due to the high cost of the repair.

I had a clogged main sewage line about 80’ from the house. I called on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. A van came within 40 minutes and he was done in an hour. He was totally professional and the guy who took the phone call was great too. It was expensive, $600 to use the big snake but fast as hell! Thanks

The good: Problem was solved quickly, within 10 minutes. $40 coupon was available. The bad: Scheduled the service for 8 am - noon. Technician showed up around 2 pm. I did receive a call letting me know that they were running behind, but I scheduled them in the morning for a reason. Extremely expensive. $250 to unclog my toilet ($210 after coupon). This was not done as emergency service, it was scheduled. They were on site about 15 minutes total. Give them an hour with driving time and $250/hour for a plumber is way too much. Definitely shop around.

John was fantastic. Came out late afternoon on New Years Eve. Dug out the septic tank clean out cover and cover to the intake. Snaked back and got water flowing again. He did not stop there. He had me run the water/flush toilets/etc. He was not satisfied with the flow volume and put the snake back into the system...only to find a RAG...left behind by the plumber who installed our new toilets! Again, had me run water/flush toilets until he was satisfied this time that the problem was fully solved. Fantastic workmanship. Very personable too! HIGHLY RECOMMEND him.

Hi my name is Tim I am the maintenance man for this property and oversaw the operation. While I was completely satisfied with Roto Rooter, I am some what displeased with how the contractor left the area dug up. The lawn area was not graded smooth chunks of broken pipe was left mixed atop the soil including the lead sealer for the s old sewer piping. In addition the walkway was left broken up and uneven a potential accident waiting for the Tennant's, which has since been repaired by hired people of the owner at his cost.The contractors for the work were great guys, hard workers, but it seems that time and fatigue left the yard and walkway the way it was after digging commenced. This is my honest opinion to which I hope in some way you can address this.Thank you

Our toilet was clogged up. We were not able to remove the clog with a plunger or an auger. I called Rotor - Rooter as a last resort. They were able to get here pretty quickly. Ron was able to unclog the toilet fairly quick. He was polite and friendly.My only complaint is that it was much more expensive than I thought it would be.

Technician #3306 too0k care of my problem which was difficult to solve. He was polite and efficient and he cleared the kitchen drain which I could not do after repeated attempts and which I had done in the past. Bravo. I'd call him again.

I took half a day off work to wait for the plumber and the guy did not come! The plumber was supposed to come from 8am - noon. It was scheduled a week in advance! First they called me at 10am and asked if I still need a plumber (surprise, surprise,.. I was still in need). They confirmed the guy would come before noon.. I called at noon, and they said they had two plumbers working in the area, who did not finish their jobs, and they could not guarantee they would come on time!!I called to this company naively believing these ratings and google guarantee.. Probably they only guarantee answering the phone.. I will call now Sears, who works well on time..

My water heater leaks since Thursday afternoon, and we stopped to have all the water in the freezing Boston winter chill. I went to Lowe's and ordered a water heater and the very expensive emergency installation service. Lowe's told me that the contractor will call me Friday in the Morning. I waited until Friday at the noontime and nobody contacted me. I called back to Lowe's, only knowing that they forgot to send my case to the contractors.Lowe's scheduled my installation Tuesday and this was EMERGENCY installation. When they finally came, they left in 10 min, only saying they cannot do this. They gave me a full refund after I called them many times the week after.So, I contacted Roto-rooter. Then can come the next day. On Wednesday noontime, Mike (#1488) and Dan (#4622) visited my house and gave me an evaluation. The price they gave me was expensive. But after a whole week's life without tap water, I would accept anything. They ordered a water heater and helped me found an electrician, and we scheduled to have the water heater installed Thursday in the Morning.Mike and Dan came earlier on Thursday in the morning. They were extremely professional. They also really cared about my home as if they were working in their home. To carry the old rusty water heater out, they have to go through two carpeted area and they covered the whole path from where the water heater is to my front door. They also moved the very heavy water heater downstairs in pouring rain, without wasting any time. When they leave, my home is as clean as the time when they come.After 7 days no water, we finally have water at home. I really appreciate their work. Roto-rooter is expensive, but they can really get the work done. Their work saves a ton of my time, which worth the price.

I was very pleased with Bob B(tech 1137). He was here one hour ahead of time, worked very quickly to solve the problem and answered all of my questions. The Green drain cleaner is amazing-I have two small kids and I want to make sure the chemicals I am using are kid-friendly. Although it was expensive, Bob was excellent!

Fixed the issue, and was upfront about pricing once technician is on site. I wish they gave estimate over the phone. $500 for snaking a drain is too steep, but I went ahead with it anyways as I didn't want to wait. Job took about an hour. Had I known the price before hand I would have tried scheduled someone else.

I own my own company and we were having a problem with our shop toilet, I called Roto-Rooter at 8:00 a.m. and got confirmation via email at 8:01 a.m., a call at 8:15 a.m. stating a technician (Burin) is on his way. At 8:25 a.m. the technician arrived. What quick service not to mention being kept in the loop as to when he was arriving. The technician was very knowledgeable, clean and very professional. I would call Roto-Rooter for any problems we may incur in the future. OUTSTANDING service!

Charles showed up on time. Explained everything through out the whole process and was very thorough. Would absolutely call back again should we ever need his services again.

Had a pipe blow open and gush water into our basem*nt because of a clog. Put in a ticket first thing in the morning for that afternoon. Within 3 hours, I had two servicemen here fixing the issue. They were done early in the afternoon and I was able to use my appliances again.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received from Roto-Rooter. The initial person I spoke to on the phone was very polite and asked meaningful questions to understand the issue. The plumber arrived within the time frame specified and got right to work. He was extremely professional, explained what he was doing and, ultimately, fixed the issue. Technician never explained what he was doing, nor was the warranty explained. We had to call someone back after just two weeks. Neither technician cleaned up after they were done. Third day the camera technician finally came. We will never use them again!

They came Saturday to assess and clear our blockage and arrived first thing Monday morning to replace our pipe......a lot of digging. And they preserved our grass and placed it back so I hardly noticed it was dug up. Sean and Roy deserve a raise in my opinion. Main line was not cleared out well-still has roots in the main line out to the street, a clog still exists with backups noted in the basem*nt utility sinks. We were overcharged ($645.75) to have a house trap cleared out and had to call to have Roto rooter come back out same day due to the backup. He also didn’t replace a broken cap to the main line and told us to go to a plumbing supply store to purchase one, where if we didn’t have a utility sink would’ve had water damage in our basem*nt from the backup. Would not recommend Joseph E.

A couple weeks ago on a rainy Friday night septic was coming up our basem*nt sink. Called for a clogged bathroom sink drain. I received a call back and confirmed and they were at my home in less than 45 minutes. Ignacio the technician was very polite and professional. The call representative was very friendly and concerned and ensured me someone would be able to come resolve the issue quickly. When the technician came, he was cordial and practiced social distancing along with wearing a face mask the entire time. A new pump was needed so the technician arranged for a plumber to come out the day after Thanksgiving to replace the pump. He arrived on schedule, explained exactly what was needed, purchased & installed the pump. I was very happy with the professionalism and service of the men who came on both visits. I went down to the basem*nt to put the laundry in the dryer and found a pool of water on the basem*nt floor. We called after normal business hours and the person on the phone was very kind and setup an appointment for the next morning. A couple hours later I received a call that a plumber could come out that night.Ron showed up at our house and went over the plan with me to address our drain backup. After a few minutes into the job, Ron wanted to switch approaches and check the sewer on our street. His experience led him to this intuition which was correct — our street’s sewer main was backed up causing our issue.Ron then advised me to call the city and ask them to come out. After a few phone calls, I was able to get the city public works folks out with a truck to fix the problem. Ron was very professional with the city workers giving them all the info they needed and helping them get the job done. At this point it was midnight, and Ron stayed after the city was done working in the street to finish the job in my house.Ron checked everything inside my house, and finished the job, allowing me and my family to sleep easy that night knowing that our problem was resolved. Ron was calm, professional, had the right knowledge to solve the problem, and went the extra mile. We are happy he’s the one who was sent out to our house!

The lady who answered my phone for inquiry was the rudest person I have ever known. She had no patience to any of my questions, and she literally hanged up on me. I wished I had asked her name so I can submit a complaint. I found Roto-Rooter online with excellent reviews but my experience was the opposite, terrible. They at least need to hire someone who can show some respect to others!

The plumber and the quality of the work they did was great, that was not my problem.Called them for an estimate on changing the wax ring of a toilet. They won’t provide an estimate over the phone for any type of job at all, even something this small. I figured it couldn’t be so bad so I went ahead and booked… the day the plumber arrives I find out they charge $500 just to replace a wax ring... for 20 minutes of actual labor and $8 of parts. What a ripoff. Definitely try elsewhere first for your repairs.

Our experience was excellent. Our toilet was overflowing and we could not figure out why. We called roto-rooter and scheduled an appointment. The service man arrived on time and spent a fair amount of time making sure he had the correct diagnosis. He then provided we with a very fair quote to fix the issue. Then he proceeded to fix it. Super professional and friendly! I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone having issues.

Was able to pinpoint the issue, fix it fast and even got me out of a jam trying to do his job before he arrived :) He showed me what to do to prevent backups down the road and what needs to be for a permanent repair. The technician Charles 4936 did a terrific job. He was so kind and patient with my 82 year old mother. He explained everything he was doing and answered all her questions. He explained what could happen if things weren’t taken care and reassured her that everything was fine. She was very pleased with his service and would definitely use this company again!

Roto-Rooter provided terrible service. We will not be hiring them, again.We called on a Friday about a leaking shower faucet. They offered us an appointment between 12 and 4 on Sunday. At 4 on Sunday we called back to see why they hadn't come yet, only to be told our appointment was for Monday (it wasn't). After arguing a bit, they admitted the appointment had been booked in error for Sunday and said they would send someone over.An hour later a plumber named Charles comes, having been told the wrong info about the job. But he looks at the shower anyway and says it needs a new valve. He says that it's a big job and it will be expensive to fix, around $700. And he doesn't have the part, even though we told them what the model was on the phone. He says we can save some money by going and buying the part ourselves to avoid the 200% upcharge they have on parts, then he can come back tomorrow and install it. He said he still needs to charge us $79 for the day, but it would count as a credit to the next day's bill. So we do that, buying the part ourselves for $100.The next day they call and say that Charles is unavailable and they're sending someone else over. A new plumber, Jim, comes over also not knowing anything about the job he's supposed to do. He looks at the part we bought and tells us it's the wrong part for our shower. He also can't figure out how to remove the fixture, repeatedly saying that he's never seen a shower like this in his 40 years on the job, despite it being a major brand (Delta). We have to remove the knob for him and he still proceeds to break it anyway. Then he goes off to buy the right part and a new shower knob to replace the one he broke.Once he gets back he literally pops out valve out and slides the new valve in, fiddles with the settings for maybe 15 minutes, and declares it done. Except he installed the knob upside down. After we make him fix it properly he gives us the bill. $535 to swap the valves, $200 to go get the part (which he then knocks off as a discount), and $160 for the parts. He refuses to honor the $79 we already paid, citing the $200 discount. We say fine and ask him about the part he used, thinking we can just do it ourselves the next time it acts up and save ourselves the hassle.The kicker is, after we pay him and he leaves, I look at the part we bought again and see that it's the exact same part he used. The one he said wasn't right. And after he leaves we have to take the whole thing apart again to fix the hot water settings, anyway, since he set the limiter too low. I wish we had just done it ourselves from the start and saved the $700.Update: In response to this review, Roto-Rooter refunded the $79 visit fee and half ($50) of what I paid for the unused part I bought. I gave them another star for following up.

Hired roto-rooter to clear some drains in a newly purchased home. I was not home however my wife was not thrilled with the service. For one- keep in mind that to snake 7 drains (2 bathroom house) was $1500. In my mind an astounding amount of money for one days work, all the while the plumber continued being extremely rude to my wife. She had even offered to hold buckets and help him where need be, but he continued with snarky comments and made for an overall uncomfortable experience for her.We then had them quote out a gas water heater. Which was full of complaints, and lacking in problem solving. This installation never happened. I’d rather spend my money with more apt problem solving plumbers and not complaining bench pieces.Overall, next time I think we’ll be working with someone else.2 stars because the drains drain.

We required a short-notice, emergency main drain clearing on a Sunday and the Root-Rooter Team (Kyle and Mike) was extremely responsive, cooperative, and professional in fixing this problem. They immediately understand what was needed and did a great job. I highly recommend this business for anyone that experiences an urgent need to fix a drain problem.

They disconnected my dryer machine that was in the way of me getting a new washer machine because the laundry room is narrow. I had them come back a few days later to reconnect the dryer after the washer machine was installed. They changed the dryer vent hose in the wall and also made it easier to turn off the gas if needed and added a new gas hose.We will definitely be contacting them again in the future for other home repairs.

Go up Saturday morning to discover first floor bathroom and kitchen floor in a couple of inches of water! Yikes! Called Roto Rooter early and in less than 2 hours Gilbert arrived to take care of our blockage. Thank goodness! By late morning we were up and running with our plumbing. Will definitely be using the drain cleaning solution once a month from now on to avoid a recurrence. Gilbert was knowledgeable, professional, and empathetic. Aaron # 477 from Roto-Rooter was great! He came in and assessed our problem. We had water coming into the washing machine and basem*nt. He said it sounds like there is a clog in the main line. We had him clean and treat the line. We also received a 6 month warranty. After the cleaning and treating took place, he said he will have someone come out and send a camera down in the pipe to make sure it's not broken or collapsed. This is included in the price we already paid. Their pricing seems to be a little higher then average. We were willing to pay it because of the following reasons:1- Aaron was very knowledgeable, and friendly2- He came out on a Saturday and fixed it3- To have peace of mind, and not have to wait until Tuesday (this was during a holiday weekend)4- So we could use our bathroom, and do laundry.Thanks so much for the great service!!

I had a slow draining kitchen sink and Roto-Rooter wanted to charge me $600 to clear the clog. They said this was their standard fee. I refused to have them do the work and found a local service that did it for $190. Roto-Rooter used to be good but they are now a total scam.

Absolutely fantastic service. We had a clogged pipe (thanks little kids....) and Gilbert was on-site fast, was extremely knowledgeable, and helpful in getting the clog diagnosed and cleared very quickly.He explained the entire process and was professional and left no mess whatsoever.For emergency service, I would not hesitate to use our local Roto-Rooter again if necessary.

I made a call on a Sunday morning because we had a pipe clog and it started flooding all over my kitchen floor. Within a half hour we had a plumber at our door, he was very courteous and worked efficiently to correct the problem. I felt very reassured that the job was done right and he thoroughly explained everything to me. I really like that not only is there is a six month guarantee on their work, but that they leave you with a preventative maintenance solution to use monthly. He did a great job and I was very pleased that he left the work space clean afterwards.

I have an ongoing issue every so often with roots and it clogging our pipes causing it to back-up. I have always dealt with the same local plumber. This time around they weren't available so i called roto-rooter and boy was i happy i did!!!Their service was not only fast and affordable, but our plumber Ramon #3029 was so pleasant. He actually took the time to go into the pipes and clean it three different times with different sized blades to ensure that the roots were cleaned out good. Something our other plumber never did!!! The Roto Rooter technician, Roy #3292, was very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He quickly found the source of the problem and fixed it very well. He answered all my questions and kindly explained how to prevent future drain problems. It would be a 5-star review other than a delayed service. I was given a service window between 8 and 10 but the tech arrived around 1:40 PM.

I feel like it will, but you just never know. So I will monitor for further leaks (repaired area) and will update if necessary. For now I feel good about the service and the repair cost. I would have given 5 stars but I was charged 339.00 to fix a leak in bathtub faucet that continued to leak. Called again and was charged 890.00 to install whole new fixture. In my opinion, the 339.00 should have been deducted from the 890 since it didn't get fixed the first time. Jeff was very nice and courteous and explained everything well. My only complaint is I was charged 339.00 and still had leak. Would be happier if it was deducted from 890.00 since the 339.00 did not fix the problem. Thank you!

We callled Roto-Rooter for our kitchen sink clog with hopes it was a simple and quick fix. Turns out we had a massive grease build up and blockage after decades of use. The team worked tirelessly on multiple trips using different methods to break it free and continued to make sure the pipes were free of build up so we wouldnt have any future problems. Our anxiety was high as we had just remodelled our home but they were prompt, professional and cleaned up with very little evidence that they were ever there. We'd like to thank Gilbert for his knowledge, information and personality even at 11pm while he was under our kitchen sink !! And also Huge thanks to Mark and Mackenzie for coming in with the Jet truck and back breaking work removing all the yuck from our pipes. Every call was quickly answered and arranged by dispatch who were fantastic !! We would highly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone !!

I called Roto Rooter because of a drainage/backup problem in my tub. Within an hour Stephen H arrived and worked tirelessly to fix the problem. Since this is an old house we need to do some additional work but Stephen fixed this until this can be done. We were extremely happy with Stephen's honesty, professionalism and knowledge. Excellent service! We’ve had a clogged drain for longer than I’d like to admit and Brendan and Charles showed up and got right to work. They were on time, extremely professional and very nice throughout the process. Could not recommend them enough!

Plumber was friendly and honest. But company is a scam. We were quoted $69 to come out- which I thought was great and assumed that meant to diagnose and then any work needed would be additional based on time, job size, etc. The $69 ended up being literally for them to walk into the house. He said once he diagnoses the source of our leak or even “takes out any tool” the price goes to $289. Im not sure why anyone would pay to have a plumber literally just come over? We paid $69 to clear our schedule and make sure we were home during the 4 hour window, to have someone be here 30 minutes and say yes you have a leak( yes I’m aware that’s why I called you). Very misleading.

The technician arrived about 20 minutes later than was estimated, but his work was very efficient. He explained procedures carefully and cleaned up the work area before leaving. He also described the optional camera follow up to determine the location of the obstruction in the piping, which was included with the price of the repair. I received a call to schedule the follow up shortly after the first person left, and the visit was scheduled for the next day.I appreciated the detailed explanations from both service technicians, as well as the offer for additional assistance when needed.

Roto Rooter came the same morning I called and quickly cleared roots from my sewer line. The technician was professional and explained everything he did. There is no question, I will definitely be using them again if I need my sewer line cleared.

It was a kitchen drain clog that affected a sink, a disposer sink, and the dishwasher. The customer service center was top-notch, promising someone within two hours of when I called at 9:00 am. They updated me with the status of the person coming, and that person came 30 minutes before the scheduled time was over instead of the usual 30 minutes after. He was friendly and exceedingly competent. I got a quote for the job as they promised; I thought it was rathre high for a kitchen sink clog but I went with it because they were there and I needed to get on with my life.Ironically the local plumber I called first at 7:30am was trying to reach me at 9am while I was on the phone with RotoRooter, so I thought that I never did hear back from him when in fact he tried multiple times but I didn't check my answering machine. I think the local guy would have been cheaper for sure, but would he have come and been done in just two hours? I guess you get timely service when you pay a lot.

I ended up with an emergency sewer drain clog on Sunday night. The water started overflowing out of my washer drain. I am so happy I got a hold of Roto Rooter!! Ron was at my house within a couple hours and cleared the clog. He was very nice and informative. Not only that there was no emergency fee for them to come out! They told me I would be contacted to do a camera scope of the drain. The very next day I got a call from Brian and he was at my house that morning. He let me watch the video of the camera going down so I could see the problem as well. Low and behold we have a problem. After talking with Brian they are coming out again today to hydro jet my pipes to clear the clogs. I couldn't be happier with the service. Everyone that I have talked to within the company including the dispatchers have been great and have worked with my work schedule as well! I would highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing problems! Thank you for helping us!!!

Beware of the pricing! Almost 300 dollars to replace an 8 dollar fill valve! The plumber Jeff was at the house for less then 20 mins total for the job, and billed for 3 hours! Pricing for this job should have been more around 140.00 after doing research. Be more transparent in your pricing upfront! Be careful if you get Jeff at your door step, he's a wolf looking for prey.

Our garbage disposal backed up on Thanksgiving and Joe came out within an hour and solved problem quickly and professionally. He explained everything he was doing and cleaned up after. Joe was great and a lifesaver.

Excellent job. They came out the day after I called and took care of my issue. The plumber, Ed, was friendly and helpful. The price seems a bit high at $415.00 but I like the 6 month guarantee.

Our water heater broke down over the weekend. We were able to get an appointment set up late Saturday night for Monday. Josh #7752 or 7750, the plumber, came between the estimated window of 12-4. He was very professional and helpful. He did not seem like he was just trying to sell us a more expensive service. He came back the next day right on time and installed a new water heater. He was very polite and made sure that it was okay to come into the house and sit down given the current state of things. He was very responsive to any questions that we had in regards to the warranty and if we had any questions who we should call. This was our first experience using Roto Rooter and would not hesitate to use them again!

Woke up on a Saturday to drains that were all blocked up. A local plumber wasn’t able to resolve. I called RotoRooter at 830 and Ray was at my house by 10. He promised to have my issue fixed before he left, and he kept that promise. Our pipes were flowing in an hour. Not only were we happy with the outcome, but we were happy with Ray. He was friendly and polite and he took the time to give us tips for keeping our plumbing healthy.

The service was quick which we were really hoping for! They came within two hours of my call. The tech assigned was awesome! He was honest about pricing and the work. Very friendly. Great customer service tonight for sure!

They dispatched a technician (Burim) immediately the same day I called, and he arrived in just over an hour. He was very friendly, diagnosed the problem very quickly, provided me with an estimate, and started work right away upon my approval. He took extra care not to let my animals sneak outside as he was coming in and out the door, and was careful to clean up when he was done. Very happy with their service, and will definitely use them again when the need arises!

Our technician fixed our kitchen faucet, two toilets that were running, and went out and got flaps to upgrade two additional toilets so they would keep running well into the future. He also waited for me to come back from an appointment, which was very helpful.

Just today, we discovered that we had a sewer main blockage that was causing water and sewage to leak all over the basem*nt floor everytime we tried using water. After trying for over 2 hours to get a local plumber to come over late in the night, only to be told that the message is being relayed, we called roto rooter. Vivien arrived within 2 hours, and immediately went to work. Not only was he able to clear the blockage, but was able to determine that the pipe that connects our septic tank to the leach line is not level, which is the ACTUAL cause of the blockage.Because of Vivien's fantastic work, we now expect to be in touch with roto rooter ASAP to hopefully 1) fix the pipe so that it is level, and 2) to check for, and if needed, repair water damage, as well as potential mold restoration.Anyone else would have merely cleared the blockage and called it a day. But, Vivien went above and beyond to find the cause of the blockage, and offered a long term/permanent solution. We will absolutely be recommending our family and friends to use roto rooter for any plumbing issues, especially when they pop up unexpectedly in the middle of the night.P. S. It's now 7:37 AM, and the two local plumbing companies we initially contacted STILL haven't called back

I had to call roto rooter due to a stupid mistake of my own. Through a series of unfortunate events we somehow ended up with a foreign object flushed down the drain. After a week it got lodged into the main and caused a backup. When I came to the realization that I had to call someone I was sure it was going to be a multi thousand dollar proposition. After speaking to a few plumber friends they all agreed it should be handled by roto rooter as the clog was in the main.I called roto rooter at 3:35 PM. At 4:30 Chris and Joe showed up. I explained what happened, they looked at it, and gave me a price which was a small fraction of what I was expecting to pay. I agreed, they opened up the main drain and had it fixed in an hour. They were both extremely professional, neat, and really good at what they do. They cleaned up the floor better than it was before they got there and did a great job. They also both seemed to enjoy their job.I couldn't possibly be happier with the service

This company is the best company I have ever dealt with. My shower ended up getting clogged on a Sunday and I was worried I was going to have to wait until Monday to get it fixed. I tried calling Roto-Rooter and they picked up right away, took my information and told me that within 2 hours someone would be out to take a look and fix the drain. They sent Ron (#5592) who was at my door within 2 hours and was absolutely amazing! He was professional, knowledgeable, extremely nice and answered all my questions. He was able to fix my drain and my shower is working better than ever. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and Ron! They are way overpriced. They would not give me pricing over the phone to change a garbage disposal but made me pay $100 to get them in the door only to tell me it would be $600 for that job and $530 to unclog a sink. I wouldn’t recommend

We came home on a Monday evening to a very unfortunate back-up flood in the basem*nt and needed to address it quick. We called Roto-Rooter and within a couple hours our service technician Sergey Melnik from Springfield had identified and fixed the problem. He reassured us and helped explain what had happened and how to prevent it from happening again. He also coordinated with his team so that while he was fixing things, we were able to schedule a time for the next morning for their clean-up team to come in. All in all it was a great experience and we felt very grateful for Sergey's help.

The service technician Charles was excellent! He was prompt, had great communication, worked quickly efficiently, and ultimately did a very good job for us! I have yet to have a poor technician with Rotorooter. I do feel their prices are a little higher than other companies, but the responsiveness and quality of their work make it our first choice.

My Service Technician, Mike Nicoll, was beyond awesome, I'd rate him a ten! He was courteous, friendly, and offered numerous helpful suggestions to prevent plumbing problems in the future. He also volunteered to come on a Saturday morning because I had waited 4 1/2 hrs on Thursday and over 8 hrs on Friday. I would have preferred Roto-Rooter tell me at the start that it would be 4-5 days before they could get a technician here rather than stay home for 2 days waiting for a technician that finally showed up at 4:15 pm Friday as I was on my way out the door.

Friendly, courteous professional customer service with good systems backing them up, as they knew immediately I was a customer from 6 years ago. They took all the info, provided me with a two hour window and followed up with a phone call when all the technicians were still tied up on existing calls. The technician, Ron, continued with complete professionalism and even devised a way to shield my wife's plants from spraying waste water. He completed the job in a timely fashion, explained the issue and proposed resolution to one of the condo association trustees, and saved some forensic evidence to back up the root cause of the issue. Couldn't be happier

They charged me $79 to come out and quote a drain repair and faucet replacement in my kitchen....Sit down...$850! When I said no thanks they pressured me to pay the $79 in cash immediately before they left my driveway. The service tech told me it's all prepriced. So why didn't they tell me the cost upfront? I would never have asked them come out for that price. They threatened to send the invoice to collections.....after I paid it! BTW I had it repaired for $350!

My techs were awesome, Mike #1488 and Patrick #4384. There work was efficient, clean and thoroughly satisfying, very similar to a successful morning visit to the toilet. I made the call this morning, also needed to reschedule to an earlier time, and here it is a little after 3pm and all my toilets and showers work correctly. I was happily surprised to find out that my wife's and my Military service was also appreciated and recognized. The payment amount for the work performed was a little easier to swallow due to this. Thank you and we thank you for your continuing professional service to your customers. Hope I never need to call again but I certainly will if it is required.

Ron Technician#5592 We had an emergency call on 5/11 around 6:30 pm that evening. We had not anticipated such speedy service and we we're thankful that Roto-Rooter was available 24/7 due to COVID-19. Ron was very nice and thorough during our visit and explained to us that we had a build up of roots in our pipes and advised us this was what was causing our issue during our visit. I’m very happy for Roto Rooters Elie 8573 fixed the clog in the toilet in no time. It’s a bit expensive but it’s worth it. Very friendly staff when you called and they will give you a call when they’re closer to the house. I’m very happy for their job well done.

The initial tech that came out to look at our garbage disposal was very helpful. However, we later ran into problems with scheduling appointments. First they got our appointment time wrong and then during the time they were supposed to come for a rescheduled appointment they called to tell us no techs could make it. This was due to the amount of pipes that had burst over the extremely cold weekend, which is understandable, but it would have been better if they had set realistic expectations rather than making appointments they couldn't keep. When the techs finally did come they did a good job and were very friendly. Overall their ability to keep appointments is pretty bad, but their service is competent and friendly.

Joe #7818 was terrific! Knowledgeable, professional, and extremely neat. He resolved the problem quickly! Should the need arise, I will definitely request that Joe be the service technician.

At every step I felt like a valued customer. The plumber who evaluated and diagnosed my problem went above and beyond to ensure prompt service to my home. The plumber who removed the old tank and replaced it with the new one was patient and kind with my many questions, explaining everything as he worked through the day. My Restoration Estimator took the time to help me understand the process of water mitigation and how they would partner with my home insurance provider. The 2 amazing men who spent the day evaluating and cleaning deserve recognition for their patience and kindness as a small problem grew by the hour, as they discovered more and more damage. They stayed well past their expected departure time, but were committed to finishing the job. Lastly, Jorge who came to my home to do the moisture readings and remove the equipment was kind and compassionate and attentive. Roto-Rooter turned what could have been a truly devastating experience and somehow made it easier. As a single mother of 2 girls, feeling respected, valued and safe means the world to me. My plumber Bill (#3462) was a friendly person, he explained to me exactly what the company does and how much it would cost. He explained how the clog could be deeper down in which case could cause more of a problem. He was very knowledgeable about plumbing and the clog that I had. He was also able to determine/isolate the clog based on his knowledge of septic systems and the rest of the toilets in the house were in working order. He was terrific. Dispatch did a great job to get BIll here within a 90 minute window and the clog was taken care of within 20 minutes of Bill's arrival. Awesome job!

He was a pleasant guy, he got the job done, but there was a lot of unnecessary prior discussion about expensive changes on the main sewer line before he finally agreed to do the obvious. I had my main line sewer pipe back up due to roots. I called Roto Rooter to help clear the line. They were so quick. The technician Shawn arrived within 2 hours of the phone call. He was so nice. I was very upset by this issue and he not only cleared the line quickly but also told me how to maintain the lines in the future. I am a first time home buyer and have only been in my home for 2 years. Shawn was very knowledgeable and so helpful. I would definly use again but praying I don't need to. :) I highly recommend.

I would give RotoRooter negative stars if I could. Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with any company. From start to finish they were a disaster. After billing us a considerable amount up front to fix a sewage issue in our basem*nt, they failed to show up to do the work until we called them repeatedly and threatened to fire them. Their water remediation team ran fans in our basem*nt that likely spread bacteria from the sewage spill around our home; a mistake which people familiar with this type of work identified in no time. No one on the team ever knew when anyone else would show up. Then a miscommunication between team members meant that much more cement and piping was removed by jackhammer than necessary, resulting in extra unnecessary work for the plumber - work which we were billed for. Finally when we tried to have this billing issue addressed we were ignored and no adjustment was made. And those are just the bigger issue that I can remember after a very frustrating experience. Avoid!! (Boston area)

Today I was in desperate need of plumbing work and it is very difficult to get a plumber to come on short notice. I was so happy when I called the RotoRooter number in the book and got Dawn, who nicely listened to me go on and on about my problem and then set me up an appointment.When Shawn, Tech #2882 showed up, right on time I began to relax. He was pleasant and kind and again listened to my story. He also went right to work fixing my problem and getting me the information I needed to never have this problem again.Often when you get a service person after lunch they are aggravated and short but not Shawn, he was GREAT!! So pleased with the service I received from this company and its workers. Hopefully won't need them again but they will be my first call if I do.

It seems this company is a complete scam. On 6/19/2023, I had an appointment for a draining issue in the bath sink and shower and after the visit they quoted $500 to fix boththe issue. I asked forthe time to think if I want to go ahead with the fix. I called them again on 6/26 that I would like to go ahead but this time they quoted $1000 for the same service which was completely shocking to me as we had a detailed discussion and it was told to me that we can fix this and the best price will be $500. I reported my concern and I was told that it will be addressed but they didn't. It seems they do not have any standard pricing for the specificjob and try to mint as much as possible which was a completely shockingexperience and not expected from a company which boasts otherwise. I wouldn't recommend thiscompany to anyone.

This is the second time I've used Roto Rooter in 25 years for drain cleaning. Very responsive and came within 2 hours...Ron was very professional, knowledgeable & has a great sense of humor. Work was done quickly and efficiently; cost is so reasonable and will followup with suggestions for old cast iron drain. I also wasn't aware they did other plumbing work. Highly recommend.

Our dishwasher and sink were both backed up and completely unusable. Roto-Rooter sent Ron the same day we called and was really courteous and efficient. My drains backed up last week. The first Roto-rooter serviceman came to my house within an hour, identified the problem and told me that more extensive work would be needed. He removed tree roots growing through my drain pipes. Within a half hour after he left, I received a phone call from the second serviceman who said he would come out in 2 days to perform a video inspection of my pipes at no extra cost. After his inspection he informed me of my options and he called the third serviceman, Nelson P. who would arrive within the hour to power-jet the drain lines to the street, clearing the entire line of roots. Nelson was very thorough and would not leave until he felt the line was clear. He was excellent.

Our entire experience with Roto-Rooter was great. We had a blockage in our sewer line that turned out to be roots from a nearby tree. They came in, excavated the outside and simultaneously opened up the concrete in the basem*nt as well. They replaced all necessary parts, taking great care to disrupt our property, foundation and driveway as little as possible. Three hours later, they were done. Amazing work!

Excellent service. The plumber was prompt, courteous, and was able to address several problems in the home. Even saving us money by telling us what wasn't needed. I will definitely be using this company again, although hopefully I won't have to anytime soon!

Elie the technician arrived when promised, he promptly introduced himself and gave me the price and details as soon as he diagnosed the problem. He was very polite and very good, he tackled the job right away and was very thorough. He explained what was wrong during his process and completed the job quickly. I would highly recommend him and his company!!

Service Tech was very efficient and professional. He took care of our problem, explaining what he had done and how to hopefully stop this from happening again. He was extremely pleasant. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is I do think they were a little pricey.

I am revising my 4-star review to one. I’d make it zero if I could. Two days ago I had sewage back up in my basem*nt. Rotor Rooter from Stoughton MA came within one hour of my emergency call. The technician said that their 100-foot rotor tool couldn’t go any further than 20’ or so, halfway to the street because the pipe had collapsed and there was no passage possible. They showed me a broken rotor blade that allegedly broke attempting to clear the blockage. A Roto-Rooter Sewer Solution Specialist arrived shortly after with a camera scope to confirm the damage and location of the collapse. He said I would need to replace a 5’ section of pipe 7’ below the surface. It would be replaced the next day for $11,500 but could be $5,000 more if there was more damage beyond the collapse. This seemed very expensive but planned to do it because it was “an emergency”. I couldn’t sleep that night thinking of the crazy price, so decided to get a second opinion. The company I found said they would look at the problem. They came over right away. They used a camera scope and found no breaks in the pipe. The blockage was due to a compressed toilet paper clog. It was quickly cleared without the need to replace my pipe for only a few hundred dollars. They saved me over $11,000. I slept well that night.

I had roots growing in my sewer drain which caused it to back up. The service technician, Joseph Emory #7818 came to do the repair to unclog the sewer line. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. It was a stressful situation for me and he put me at ease and answered all of my questions. It was top notch customer service and I would request Joseph when using Roto Rooters services for any future plumbing needs. It was an after hour call and he was here in a timely fashion and did not rush. He took his time and was very thorough! I honestly can not stress enough how satisfied I am with his services. I will recommend Roto Rooter to my family and friends for their plumbing needs as well! I wish I could give Joseph more than 5 Stars!

You guys were referred to me by another very happy customer. I called with much trepidation. I was wrong. You guys were great. Calm, reassuring, super polite, no mess, after hours and reasonable prices. Damian even let me change his name to Denny !! I'm referring you to my client's now. I always thought RotoRooter was for septic repair. Now I know better.

Although they were prompt, the technician was was not great. Could not find my water shutoff, then blew out my exterior sprinkler system by mistake! Fixed the issue, but left the main waste pipe leaking and when I called him, said he would return, but never did. This calls for a call to the manager. That pipe was not leaking when he arrived. More problems and a waste of my time.

The technician was professional and informative. The job was performed as planned and successful. The cost however was exorbitant. $575 to snake the kitchen drain. I felt as if they were taking advantage of the situation.

John Lendall was a great help to us today! We had minor issues with our upstairs bathroom that he fixed without charging us as our downstairs bathroom was in dire need of being unclogged. He was in and out in 30 minutes and was very professional!

4/24/21 called RR because of clogs and water not draining in toilet and backing up in tub and kitchen water not draining and backing up into washing machine hose. They arrived in a timely manner. Claimed that for $615 they would fix the problem. He said that water will drain but for $1750 they will come back to get rid of all the grease in lines. Today Sunday called back because water in kitchen isn’t draining again but bathroom is. Today they want $565 to unclog kitchen because it a separate clog from 2 days ago. This sounds like like they are totally trying to rip us off with these extreme pricing. So in 2 days they want to charge $3000 to unclog because they are saying that each line is additional ridiculous charge.. does any of this sound right, this is in the Boston area

I had a rapidly worsening kitchen drain clog that I had tried unsuccessfully to clear myself. Roy from Roto-Rooter was able to get it unclogged in about 30 minutes. He was personable and professional, and worked carefully to avoid any scratching to the hardwood floors or cabinets. All around excellent experience. A little pricy, but you pay for competence.

I was skeptical about using Roto-Rooter, but with a drain back-up emergency and no other plumbers available, I called them. They said they would have someone on-site within 2 hours, and the person was here in 1.5 hours. He was extremely knowledgable and professional, and explained all of our options clearly. He worked for several hours and did an excellent job. Everything was cleaned up nicely and now our pipes are working great again. Did I mention this was the day before Christmas Eve, and the fellow took his time to do the job right, not to rush. I was very impressed and would definitely call them again.

Gilbert saved the day. Toilet backup 2nd time in 2 weeks. He was pleasant informative patient and helpful. The hard working folks who did the dirty work were great... thanks! However, once I had to deal with the front office (Stoughton, MA) or management- things got bad. We had a repeat issue with our toilet so after the second time they took a video in the pipes to diagnose the problem so we could fix it and avoid a third visit. They never emailed me the video from the visit and I called countless times over the next 6 months or so. Never got called back, never got an email returned, and never received the video. When I finally did get in touch with someone they told me that videos are routinely discarded after 2 weeks... so mine was non-existent at that point. I emailed the local manager, a customer service manager and the director of public relations to discuss what a disappointing experience I had- and got nothing in response. They don't care! So frustrating and unprofessional, which is why I'm writing this and encouraging others to look elsewhere for plumbing problems. Do not use them!

Charles (#4936) came out for a service call in the snow and even arrived early. Listened patiently as I explained what was happening and knew exactly what to do, explained the risks and the possible causes, worked quickly and neatly to resolve the issue, and left me with clear instructions and advice on how to avoid this problem in the future. They were very late- supposed to show up between 9am-1pm and came at 2:45pm at which point I had 30 min until I had to leave. Mysteriously it took him 90 minutes for a 45 minute drive and I should've been notified of the delay. No communication. The minute he entered the home, I explained my deadline and at 3:15pm he showed no sign of finishing up. I had to repeatedly explain the urgency that he leave and finally 10 minutes later he did so. Never again. Expensive beyond belief as well.

Ron #5592 was extremely efficient at diagnosing and coming up with a solution to clear my blocked main line drain. Within an hour he had cleared the blockage (roots) and was talking me through next steps roto rooter was going to take to ensure there was damage to the line.

Quick to schedule appointment when I called but there was a lot of confusion about having a confirmation call on the day of the appointment. They sent a text to confirm they were on their way but showed up at the very last minute of the two hour window. When I called to schedule the appointment they were unwilling to give a price estimate for the work and it turned out to be very expensive (snaking two drains for $450). Not sure I'd use them again at that price point.

My plumber Ronnie was absolutely wonderful. He called me to let me know that he was on his way and may be a bit late due to the rush hour traffic in downtown Boston, which I greatly appreciated. Upon his arrival he was very personable and cordial. While I brought him into the bathroom he had mentioned he had done some work in my apartment building in the past which was reassuring. He then gave me a diagnosis and went back to his truck to get the proper equipment necessary to do the job. Once he got his tools he was able to fix the problem in about ten minutes. He then had me fill out the proper forms he needed and also offered me a coupon to reduce the cost of the job which is always appreciated. Once that was all taken care of we chatted for 5-10 more minutes and he was on his way out into the cold to his next job. I was dealing with an extremely stubborn clog in my kitchen drain for a week. Thinking I could solve the problem myself, I tried the old chemical warfare to no success. My next step was to rent an electric snake. The 35 foot snake didn't work so I rented a 75 ft one. After several hours of trying, my friend had to give up (believe me he's a fighter with literally no quit in him). I finally decided to call in the pros. The first one that came to mind was Roto Rooter, that jingle just played in my head. The first tech arrived and battled like crazy for about 4 hours. He called in a back up tech (Ron #5592) and after an hour Ron was able to get the job done. The two techs were very professional and thorough. They showed great teamwork to get the job done! I would definitely recommend Roto Rooter for any job now!

Great communication from the time I called in a panic to the minute they showed up at my door. The techs were ahead of schedule, which was greatly appreciated because of my busy schedule. The techs clearly explained everything they would do for me and how they might be able to fix my problem and the options, costs, etc. I felt so at ease knowing they had my bad drain/sewer issue under control. In the end, it was some tree roots that had grown into my sewer line, which they explained was common. They answered all my questions and provided me with great information. Really appreciate the 6 month warranty on the service, though I really hope I never need it!

Joe came out quickly and cleaned our toilet line which was clogged and caused our toilet to leak at it's base when flushed. He got rid of all the garbage that caused the blockage, was very thorough explaining why and how it was blocked and cleaned up the after-mess thoroughly! Job: when we ran this dishwasher, there would be water back up gushing back out through the kitchen sink. We also had a little bit of a clogging issue in our bathroom sink (although I'd used Liquid Plumr and a tool off of Amazon to clear debris). There's more con points but, if I'm honest, that would be nitpicking so I'll leave those out.Pros:-- Same-day service-- The tech offered to check out the bathroom sink AND the toilet (simple pressure issue) for free-- So far so good: everything seems to work fine.Cons:-- We didn't much appreciate the tech's dirty work boots, especially in the bathroom where he left boot prints all over the rugs-- The (2-hour) job cost us $600! For a drain clean?! What would it have cost for something more serious?-- The tech took out the drain plug in the bathroom sink and never put it back. I couldn't even fit one back if I wanted to go at it DIY style.ADDENDUM (8 months later)I'd been meaning to edit this but never got around to doing so. After I posted the above review, I was contacted by a supervisor who apologized for the quality of service and offered a $100 discount on any future jobs. I asked to instead get back that amount, to which he was amenable -- all this within a week.The job may not have been well done for the price, but I appreciate the swiftness of their customer service and for this, I give it 3 stars (vs. my original 2).

While both my son and husband spiked fevers of 103, we managed to clog our kitchen drain after dinner. We called RotoRooter and they had someone out within an hour and a half. He came in, was quiet because of the sick sleeping baby, kept all his tools so neat and organized and tried to finish up as quickly as he could. He was so kind and helpful. He quickly fixed the drain, he looked in the basem*nt to be sure there was no leaks or anything from us trying to fix the drain ourselves. He even went so far as to tell us there is an online rebate and took it off our bill (he said I had enough on my plate and didn't have time to go find some online rebate). Even though I stressed it didn't matter, he cleaned on his way out the door and left me with a working sink, and a clean kitchen before the expected arrival window closed. We have a trusty plumber we always call but when we ran into a last minute late night jam...rotorooters solved our HUGE problem. I highly recommend them for an in-a-pinch, late night emergency anytime! I certainly will not hesitate calling them if I run into this kind of situation again!

I needed my main drain line snaked out due to tree root blockage and called Roto-Rooter. I was able to easily and quickly schedule a service time. I then needed to change that appointment to an earlier time and that was also accomplished quickly and with ease.I was called before the service tech arrived, and he was on site within the window of time I was given. Kenny and Nate provided above-the-bar service and there were both so pleasant and wonderful to work with! We were having a drainage issue that started Saturday (the first guy was unfortunately unable to fix our issue as the problem was more extensive than expected), and Joe came to our rescue on Sunday. I can not thank Joe enough for being such an intelligent and conscientious person. Another worker may have come in angry that he had to work on a Sunday, tried to rush the job, and smashed open our valve - which would have resulted in major damage. Prior to fixing he explained what he was going to do thoroughly and gave tips on how to prevent clogging problems in the future. He guaranteed he would fix my problem and he did! Outdoor pipe to runoff wasn't draining. I called Roto-Rooter and they came and jetted it out. Works much better now. What stuck out to me was the little professional acts... making sure I understood the costs...not dragging a hose across plants, not just stomping around everywhere... showing me how the work was done...the tech just really gave the impression he was respecting my home and the surroundings. We had Mario (employee 5201) remove an unknown object as well as some roots from our sewer line. He was very nice, professional and very patient making sure the job was done properly and thoroughly. We also had two employees before him who helped us find out the issue (employee 7548 and a camera technician whose name/number we did not get) who were extremely helpful and persistent in making sure we figured out what was happening and what the next steps were.

first off, Scott the tech did a great job very polite and efficient. the problem I had was getting someone here. called on Friday 9/12 told couldn't get here till Monday I agreed, said they would be here between 8 and 12 am, they called at 10:02 said he was running a bit behind would be there around 1-2 while I'm on the phone at 10:03 they call again same info. called me back at 1:30 said it would be another hour.called me back at 4:25 said he was running late, do I want to schedule another day, said no I thought you ran 24/7 told them I couldn't take another day off. called me back at 6:13 and said he was just leaving that job and would be here within a half hour and he was.did the job and was his way. very expensive and a lot of aggravation.

We have been having issuing with our kitchen sink and laundry for years. I have used many plumbing companies over the years and finally decided to call Roto-Rotor. Both, Rebecca and Eric were great to work with. Eric was able to snake and clean the pipes and get everything working again. We also decided to have the camera unit assess the main pipe leading out the street. It gave us peace of mind knowing that the pipe was working properly and intact. I was very impressed with the promptness that Roto-Rooter displayed in answering my call for service. My drain pipe for the kitchen sink was clogged. I phoned Roto-Rooter at 9:00 AM. The person taking my call was extremely courteous, helpful and engaging. Something that many companies' call centers are lacking. I was told that a technician would be arriving early that afternoon. And at 12:00 noon the Roto-Rooter service technician arrived. He immediately identified the problem and set out to resolve it. The technician was courteous and was very professional. He adhered to Covid 19 guidelines by wearing a mask, keeping socially distant and requiring me to use my own pen for paperwork purposes. My problem was resolved and the technician thanked me for using Roto-Rooter. I would rate Roto-Rooter 5 stars except that I thought the price charged for the service was too high. The call center staff person, the promptness of response time, the service technician and the service performed were 5 star. The price charged for the service was NOT.

I am not one for writing reviews. I am a busy career woman my husband is a commercial scalloped and I have a 3 year old who is not a simple child to say the least. Anyhow to make this shorter let me get to the facts. I was feeling sick for many months. It was mysterious and scarey. My son was also not himself. Very lethargic something was up. To my surprise my floors one morning we’re all buckled leading me to call a certain company I had seen driving there green trucks around. Told my insurance they would be doing the job. Well they dissapointed me more then I can express. Came to see me only after 9 days while the leaking continued. Skeduled more silly appt just prolonging getting to the issue. Meanwhile I was sicker. This company which lucky for them I will not put them directly on blast came finally cut a huge hole into my wall set up equipment sprayed my home in that tiny spot and left plastic everywhere dirty equipment I was horrified. Said they would call me. So needles to say they had not even began to find the source of the problem just cut out a piece of my contaminated wall?? Seriously!! Sicker...... sicker. I had placed several call to them and was never answered well a week later! Browsing the web in desperation o found ROTO-Rooter. We all know to well the catchy fm tune they certainly have been around they have staying power. Called and a gentleman name Mike T. Called me back within 20 minutes. I had explained I wasn’t feeling well and that was all he needed to drive almost an hour to me THaT very day to see what was going on get the facts. He could have came the next day and had the business no he shot right up there and that spoke for itself. That man stayed with me and talked less and listens so much more. I was desperate. He did reads investigated around and came up with what he personally assumed it may be. Well he was actually spot on! I said you guys are hired! I mean you do not find people that compassionate. He is such a gem! He got the ball rolling within days his Manager Scott rushed to my home again almost an hour away taking lab samples he wanted to submit. I mean everyone was truly seriously concerned for my son.? That going out of your way to say I need to know what you are dealing with YOU need to know. Again I was alone husband was fishing in the beginning of this. Promptly Scott set up his Team of 3 amazing people to come to our home first thing Monday morning! Mind you this was only 6 short days since my call! And if the leak was still dripping the walls probably would have been down even sooner! Amazing!The 3 gentleman I will also never forget. Jorge the supervisor was so assertive like let’s do this let’s get this done yet nothjng he did wasn’t run along my husband careful and consciously. I mean this man was meant to do this! Damian and Patrick also listened to me they respected my home my health.They did not incur more damages then nessecary and they made sure becaue I seen them myself throughly check and recheck for any contaminates!! Which in fact they sure did find them! Those 3 men worked there in 96 degree heat outside nonstop and a fast fast 10 minute lunch becaue they wanted this to be resolved correctly and didn’t want us worried any longer. They finished up quite late in the evening and when ever I walked back into the house later as my husband stayed with them during the day it looked as if my home was cleaner then I left it! I am soooo shocked! I was resorted to tears. You just do not find that type of crew compassion or assertiveness and HONESTY as much anymore! I have NOT been asked nor put up to this review. This is genuine from my heart because I know there will be someone else unfortunately who is faced with this terrible situation. After the first company mistreated us having Roto come to deal with this was the best thing the literal answer to my prayers. I was so pleased with our service from Roto Rooter! Our tech Ramon 3029 was so friendly and worked very hard to make sure the job was completed well. He also made sure that the space he was working in was clearer then when he arrived. I also really like the fact that they are a 24/7 company. If we have plumbing issues again we will be returning customers for sure!

I walked into my work this morning and immediately had to deal with an overflowing toilet and no sign of it stopping. Another business quoted me a ridiculous number and told me it would be 24 hours before they could send someone out. Rotorooter sent Joe, and not only did he get out to me before noon time but he did the work for less than half of what the other guy quoted. Fast, professional, and gave me some tips to prevent the problem from arising again. 10/10.

The first technician did a great job walked me through the process. Also told me I would get a free camera view to see if there was a reason the main kept getting clogged. Once he was finished he cleaned up and said another tech would be by to take pictures with the camera. Once the next tech came it was 2 of them they came about 9pm and told me they wouldn’t be able to use the camera because of the location of the main and that they would have to basically do the main for about $6000 grand then they’d be able to see the problem. So I told them I’m all set. When I got their report they left out the part I just spoke of and said I declined services. I’ll probably never use Roto Rooter again. The lady 2 techs were unethical and told a lie as to why work wasn’t done.

I cannot say enough about how good this service was. I had used a different company on Memorial Day to unclog my laundry line, and by June 5th I had another backup in the same line.Called Roto-Rooter and they not only sent someone same day, but he arrived 20 mins earlier than stated. Gilbert was FANTASTIC. He discussed everything he was doing and why. He was professional, pleasant and patient. Great representative of this company. I will use RR again and I will most definitely request Gilbert.

Stephen H did a great job addressing and diagnosing my sewer line issue. My line had been running weak and clogging easily, Stephen quickly was able to cut out the roots in my line and then run a camera and diagnosis not only the roots but that I had a bad pipe section in the main line. He was informative and worked quickly, and cleaned up after himself thoroughly. He explained the source of the issue and how to prevent it from happening in the future. I will happily employee his services if I need them again.

Eutis (I think I spelled his name incorrectly, but cannot find out how to spell it right) came by and diagnosed the issue. He was very transparent with the pricing: faucet gets fixed, or I don’t pay anything. Indeed, we debugged the clogged faucet problem, but because he thought it would be more worthwhile to me to check manufacturer’s warranty first, we decided to leave the faucet as is for now. Even though the problem didn’t get resolved, I appreciated his transparency and efforts, and gave him a tip on his way out.This is a great example of putting customers first. I hope Roto Rooters hires more staff like him. When the time comes to do other work, I will be considering Roto Rooters again.

Everything was perfect except for the timeliness. We had people coming for dinner and our kitchen sink clogged. We were unsure for a few hours whether they would arrive in time or not. They did and the clog was cleared quickly. I do understand that it was Christmas and we had a snow storm. Technician was great!

Outdoor catch basins (2) all running clear! Tavio was in and out in 45 minutes. Great attitude, knew his craft well, delivered effectively and efficiently. My rating of him is 5 stars as noted!Less impressive was company scheduling and price. Took three different scheduled time frames to get one to actually work. Issues with truck breakdowns and equipment breakdowns. They said the truck is old and breaks down all the time.First call was on an Wednesday. First appt was set for the next day Thursday (Thanksgiving day). No show. Second appt was on Sat. No show. Third appt was Monday. So much for 24 x 7 advertising.Also, $895 for one hour seemed extremely high. Think they have figured out they have a captive audience and are likely taking advantage of their customers. Be aware.I would rate the company a 2 out of 5 for these two reasons. Tavio was great!

Finally a company that lives up to its name. Ron came to my house for a laundry drain clogging problem. He knew exactly what the problem was like he could see through the pipes. He's been doing that for 20 years so, you know he knows his stuff. Glad i had them come, it solved a problem that have been ongoing for a while. Well worth the money.

Awful, call a local plumber instead, horrible management as well. They charged me $465 ($425 with coupon) to unclog a drain that took an hour and a half. That's not the bad part yet. I told him that was steep but didn't care because I wanted the drain unclogged. His snake was frozen so he asked if he could thaw it out in my tub, I said yes. What a disaster he left my bathroom in. There was so much dirt on his snake that my drain in the tub clogged temporarily. My wife and I got that unclogged because we didn't realize what a mess he made until after he had left. After the plumber left, my dishwasher no longer works and the faucet spits water out. My faucet was perfectly fine prior and I've never had an issue with my dishwasher. They sent a follow-up plumber a couple days later (they said he'd be there at 8AM, at 9:30AM I called them and they advised that they never put a ticket in the system, he didn't show until 11), after I called, and he said that it was a coincidence (was totally just BS'ing me the whole time). I told him that I spent too much money to now have to get someone else to fix my dishwasher and faucet. He said that the reason they charge so much is because people usually go to them in emergency situations and they take advantage of them for that. I couldn't believe this so I told him that I was done talking to him and to have his manager call me. He left without fixing anything, he said he's never worked on a dishwasher before (why was he the one sent?????). His manager Bill called me and they are still trying to say that it is not their problem, but is going to call me back with a solution. It has been a few days and a couple of voicemails later and I still have not heard anything from him! Just awful.

Called Roto-Rooter at 1:00 am and asked to have someone meet me at my business at 4:00 pm the next day to unclog several bathroom drains. The tech Bob and his assistant were on time, friendly and were quick to remedy my problems. I will definitely use them for future issues.

Charles (tech 4936) was friendly, professional and efficient. He fixed our clogged shower drain in no time and gave us great tips to avoid the problem moving forward. Very good customer service from phone call to the repair. No hidden agenda the price quoted was the price charged. Although my situation was somewhat unique the repair was completed in a timely manner. Only thing unhappy with is that due to repairs from city the usual warranty does not apply. Nonetheless the work had to be done.

This was the first time I have had to call Roto-Rooter and being a first time home owner they were great to deal with. From the first person I spoke to placing the service call then the follow up phone call I received to give me an update on when the Tech was going to be onsite. ( which they called less than ten minutes later ) then my Tech Gary (777) arrived on site and we did a walk through of what the problem was. Gary came up with a plan to solve our problem and then started to implemented it , by pulling the toilet on the first floor instead of opening up the clean out in the basem*nt which would cause a lot of waist water to dump into the basem*nt. then used an agar snake to see if he could clear the clog. which it did thank god! then made sure water was flowing out. then offered to have the line snaked with a camera to see what and where the problem was. once Gary was done he cleaned up the bathroom ( spotless ) and made the appointment for Monday morning to have the drain snaked with a camera. then that tech called to confirm and set a time, which was great. overall from start to finish they were very professional and this is coming from a Service Tech from another field. Even though there maybe some other problems we have uncovered with roots ect. I was happy with the service call and that I can call 24/7.I would like to thank Gary for a great job

After noticing water backing up in our washing machine drain on a Friday afternoon, I was able to schedule an appointment for the following day between 9 am and 1 pm. I was notified around 1:30 pm that our technician was on his way, so we unfortunately had wasted our entire morning waiting around the house during our actual appointment window. Our service technician was quite friendly, and after a bit of exploration and a couple failed attempts, he was able to get our pipe opened up and everything working again. However, for a $500 service, he left both areas he worked in a complete disaster, which I then had to clean up. The convenience and availability of weekend appointments was great, and having what was claimed to be a difficult clog mitigated was very much appreciated, but the lack of timeliness and the resulting mess were not.

On father's day my sink clogged up I called one plumber and the prices was ridiculously high I called roto rooter the operator was very nice got me a tech to come to my house to check out what's wrong. My Kitchen drain backed up on Friday night and would not drain at all I attempted to clean but quickly realized I needed some professional help. I have used Roto-Rooter Plumbing twice in the last 4 years; this being the second time and before in 2011. And I have been fortunate to have great success each time. Stephen H. came right on time and was able to clean my sewer system after much hard work and effort. But as difficult a job that it was, he kept at it and now I have a clean sewer system that should last a long time. The work done can only be rated as EXCELLENT!

Don't usually write reviews, but I had a great experience with Roto-rooter and wanted to share. I had an emergency plumbing need, and John showed up within an hour, was very thorough, clean, and respectful. He was not in any rush (in a good way), and got the job done. I hope I don't need to call them again, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate going back.

Joe Emery saved our holiday weekend! He arrived within just a few hours of our call into Roto-Rooter and didn't leave until he was sure the problem was solved. What a terrific can-do attitude -- and as my mother is immuno-compromised, we especially appreciated Joe wearing a mask throughout the hot and messy job. It’s great, they always come. It turned out to be a really minor issue with the tank chain needing another link all of a sudden, but the same $269 charge applied. Kind of dissapointed in that. Having a more flexible fee schedule would be nice. It would also buy a great review; it would be a pleasant surprise. Moral to the story: try everything before you call. Check everything twice.

They were quick to respond to an emergency call. Came on Time, did the job well to get kitchen sink back in action in an hours time. But, they are very expensive. I knew emergency services are expensive but this one is too much.

We had a fiberglass tub that cracked and was leaking water in our dining room downstairs whenever we took a shower. We needed to have our tub replaced, and the plumber we normally used quoted is a ridiculously high price (that didn’t even include the tub!) and said it would be a day and a half job for 2 guys. This was after we had already had them out once before to get a quote on replacing the tub and they told us it wasn’t necessary. That the leak was coming from somewhere else. (It wasn’t.)So we went to Lowes, bought a tub and started leaving messages with a bunch of local independent plumbers. Only one called us back and said he could do the tub replacement, but he would have to find a plumber. (Uh…I thought YOU were the plumber?!?)Almost giving up hope, we decided to call Roto Rooter. Had a serious backup in my upstairs bathroom drain. Roto-Rooter came up to Topsfield and immediately fixed it, both getting rid of the clog and checking farther down the line to make sure there weren't additional problems. Overall, very happy!

I called Roto-Rooter in the afternoon to get my water heater replaced. They scheduled a service visit for the next morning. The service guy arrived at 9am to look at the installation, and gave me a reasonable quote which I accepted. He came back with a new water heater at 11am, performed the replacement, and took away the old heater at around 2pm. It couldn't be more efficient.

Ronnie was great! I live in the city where parking is tight and Ronnie spent some time looking for parking, which most contractors won't do. I had a drain that had been giving me problems off and on for weeks and I had a plumber come look at it and he wasn't able to fix it. I'm in an old building with old pipes and Ronnie was able to fix it quickly and easily, without damaging any of the pipes.

We had a clogged pipe. The technician came and claimed to have fixed it. But within 48 hours, water was backing up again. A second technician came and reviewed the pipe but instead of admitting they performed a poor service and fixing they clog, he wanted us to spend $15-20k to replace the pipe which they would gladly do. The 2 men were very informative. I used this company in 2014. It is wonderful when you have an emergency they are available. It is very difficult to get a plumber in 1 hour. The price of course is like going to the emergency room in the hospital. 639.00 for a 10 min snake job. The men were very professional and detailed on what I would need for the future to make this better. They offered waste removal service. Very helpful. I just do not have a pocket book that is full of cash! All in all very pleased that my emergency was taken care of so quickly.

This service is a ripoff.First I called for their drain service and they charged me $329 to snake the drain. It was $565 but he couldn't fix it so had to discount it. They did that and blew a hole in the pipe causing it to leak.Now I had to call a plumber which they conveniently had on-hand. I asked his rate and he didn't answer and said this is what everyone charges. Ok dude. He was a nice guy overall though.$2100 to bust open part of a ceiling and replace a P trap. I'm pretty handy and I know how overpriced that was. I paid another guy $1500 to put in an entirely new heating zone.Thanks for letting me know the companies I'll need to avoid.

Ron has the knowledge and experience to do the job right. He takes the time to explains the problem and answer any questions that you may have. It is not pleasant to have a plumbing problem, but it is pleasant to work with someone who cares about the customer, knows how to get the job done and does it with the least amount of disrubtion possible.

My only complaint was he came 3 hours later than expected. I don't think that it was his fault and the Roto-Rooter office kept me informed as to how long it would be before he could get there. Do not call a plumber if you have a clogged drain!! We had a professional plumber out who attempted to fix our problem only to have it return again and flood our whole basem*nt. We had been living with a mostly clogged kitchen sink for almost two weeks - it was draining very, very slow and we tried all the at home tricks. We plunged, we use very hot water, vinegar & baking soda, more plunging, tried a manual auger through the u-bend, and then as a last ditch effort tried to use Drano the night before we called on Roto-Rooter.I used online scheduling (love that) on Wednesday night for a Thursday morning appointment between 8 and 12. I received an email and text confirmation right after booking and then another text at 7:20 letting me know that Kenny was on the way. Kenny arrived at 8:20, proposed a solution, we talked about contingencies and wort case scenarios, discussed quote, I signed off, and the work began. He was patient with all my questions (I like to learn and ask lots of questions) and professional, efficient, and cleaned up after himself (had moved the washer, he moved it back before leaving and wiped up where there was a little spillage from the clean out).After a subsequent snaking, he found some old lingering grease and proposed a pipe shield monthly cleaning solution, but wasn't pushy about it either. I had two, slow-draining drains that could use some attention (bathtub and bathroom sink). I called Rotorooter as they were well reviewed.The window I was given was between 8-10 am, and I was told that I would receive an email confirmation and a phone call approximately 40 minutes before the employee arrives. I received no email and no phone call, and the gentleman arrived at 9:50 A.M.We walked to the bathroom and I ran both faucets. The guy looked at both for about 30 seconds and suggested we snake them. Seems fair and about what I had expected. Then he told me the price: $733. Yes, $733 to snake two drains. It was nearly $500 to snake a single drain, and the second drain was “half-off.” I told the guy “no way,” and he said ok and left.Do yourself a favor and do just the slightest bit of research when it comes to cost of snaking a drain. These guys were legitimately twice the price of what other local businesses charge. We’re not talking a bathroom remodel here, it was snaking two drains.

I called in a panic late on friday night as my toilet was leaking and the sewer line was backing up in to my shower and about to over flow. They were able to come within one hour of my call. As someone who doesn’t know a lot about plumbing I can say the technician they sent out was extremely professional and willing to explain what my issue was with my sewage line. Also, got the job done in a good amount of time despite a couple of unexpected finds in my old house. Joe was a excellent help!

Raw sewage started coming up into my basem*nt! Called Rotorooter who told us they were treating us as an emergency, and a technician appeared promptly. He explained everything clearly and planned out the next steps. A second tech came the next day and did a camera check and found that tree roots had invaded the pipe all the way out to the street. Another tech came out and hydrojetted, which cleared the line, and the next day a team came out and did a zero-dig pipe restoration, creating a pretty-much-everything-proof liner. In the interim, another tech had visited to discuss and schedule the final cleanup. These guys told us everything every step of the way - what would happen, when, how long it would take, what it would be like, what it would cost, and what to do about the insurance claim. We're a Covid-conscious household with immunosuppressed members and everyone from RR who came in was prepared with a mask. My brother, an appraiser, did a quick eval of their services and costs compared to other companies, and was very satisfied. I wholeheartedly endorse this company and would use them again (though I hope I don't have to!).

We had a leaky toilet in our new apartment, and needed an emergency plumbing service. Due to COVID-19, many of the plumbing companies we called were unresponsive or had us leave a message. However, Roto-Rooter picked up our call right away and informed us that they would be able to send a technician to come take a look within an hour, and would give us a quote free of charge. Ron (#5592) arrived promptly in protective gear, assessed the problem, and offered to fix it in the same day (for a very reasonable price). After signing the papers, Ron got to work right away. The fix took around 1 hour, and sure enough afterwards, our toilet was completely fixed! Ron was professional and fast, and I could not ask for better service. Called on a Sat night of holiday weekend and someone stayed on to take another case even though their shift was over to help. Took about 2.5 hours from initial call to when guy showed up. Only took about 15-20 minutes to fix once he arrived. Good communication from corporate about when resource was arriving. Only criticism was that on first call to corporate, they told me the fee would be assessed once the person saw the job, but then the guy got here and said it is a flat fee ($289).

I used this service since it had a high rating. I think if you have a basic need that most do it yourself can do yourself this is the over priced service for you. The guy that came for my problem spent most time scratching his head saying he doesn't know then tried to say leak was tub spout. Which I am 100 percent sure it isn't because I replaced myself after he left but even if it was tub spouts they screw on and off. To fix this he wanted 4 times what any decent plumber would charge. I recommend you go to another service unless you need a easy job done quick for a lot of money. So I am back to square one have another plumber coming Friday just feel like they only care about their guarantee $70 surcharge not the job definitely not quality service.

RotoRooter performed an excellent service arriving at my house at 9pm at night to evaluate my serious situation and provided me with an analysis of the problem and a costs to fix. After agreeing to the service they scheduled a next day / early morning fix. Arriving as planned they corrected the problem and worked professionally. Excellent work, communication, and results....

Use this company as your last resort. I schedules a 4 hour time window apt and they came 2 hours after that time frame passed. They refused to give me the estimate cost to snake my kitchen sink on the phone. Once the plumber finally came he said that it will cost $465 dollars no matter if it takes him 10 min vs. 4 hours. It took him less than 20 min to do. The biggest scam of a company.

Wasn’t to happy with the company in general, the technicians were very friendly and very quick to respond considering it was after 5pm…I had a clogged main sewer line and they tried snaking it for few hours, then basically gave up, saying they sent their largest snake 80 feet and couldn’t get the line unclogged. I took some measurements there is 30ft in my house and 18ft to my street main, very odd they can get a snake 32 ft into the main and still have a clogged line. Claiming it could be grease or roots. So they proceeded to tell me I was going to need to have my line jetted for about $1800. I told them I was all set and ended up having to writing them a check for $450….the next morning I went and bought a drain king water bladder and freed my main drainage pipe in about five minutes, only cost me 40 dollars. (With a few pairs of giant rubber gloves)All in all I wouldn’t use there services again. No offense to the techs they were very nice guys but seems like they are trained to upsell their customers instead of simply fixing the issue at hand.

When my neighbor and I (we live in attached half houses) had a plumbing emergency last Saturday, I called Roto-Rooter and their tech, John, arrived within twenty minutes. He was extremely professional and friendly and got right to work. After a lot of effort he found that the main problem was actually a clogged town sewer connection in the street. He stayed with us a total of six hours and wouldn't leave until the town solved the problem so he could complete his work. My neighbor and I want to express our thanks to Roto-Router, and especially John, for a tremendous job!!!

Initial employee was unable to clear a clog after 3 hours. Supervisor/Trainer (Gilbert Damas) stopped by after his last job. After a quick assessment, and a difficult conversation about possible complications, he was able to unclog the sink drain line quickly. Gilbert's positive attitude made this difficult day a lot better. The cost is a bit high, but at the end the problem was solved. I would recommend Roto-Rooter.

Mike was so friendly (onetime and efficient too). We did not know how close to a serious back up we were until I went into the basem*nt with Mike and walked through the basem*nt plumbing - another 24 hours and for sure the unused sink would have been overflowing.

I never write reviews. But for this, I had to. Our Roto-Rooter technician, Ralph F., arrived at our home around 10pm - the end of a long day for him. He was considerate and helpful. We had large root clogs, at different depths, in the main drain line. Frank took a couple out, using a 150 pound machine that had to be carried into our basem*nt, but the main was still clogged, as we could see with a video camera that was placed 30 feet down the line. It was now 1245 am. We had a similar problem several years ago, as I explained to Ralph. He listened to my request and explanation of how much further the root clogs could extend. He brought the cutting machine out again, and started over. Eventually, he reached the last clogs and successfully cleared the line around 130am. The most impressive aspect of this experience, is that the technician actually listened to the homeowner. I would definitely call again.

Our kitchen sink was backing up but we weren't unable to find the clog ourselves. We finally called Roto-Rooter and a plumber, Carl R. arrivedvery quickly and was able to identify the issue for us. He was incredibly courteous and completely cleaned the area after clearing the drain and removing the obstruction. We would absolutely call him again!

A technician came to our house, told us he could not repair the garbage disposal, and charged us $325. He quoted us that figure for repairing the garbage disposal which he was UNABLE TO DO. When I called the office to complain and get a refund, they were rude, defensive, and refused to refund my money. I am happy to pay for the tech's time, but $325 for 1 hour of work to inform me he could not fix it? Totally unacceptable. This company is disgraceful.

My kitchen drain was plugged after Thanksgiving. After trying all sorts of drain cleaners myself, I scheduled Roto rooter to come out. Scheduling was so easy online and they came a few hours later. Tech Damian #639 was fast, friendly and professional and got the job done in less than an hour.

The two techs I had Joe 2911 and Ryan 3993 were outstanding! They were professional and friendly around my family and both were very hard workers. We had a leaking shower mixing valve that was leaking water into the basem*nt. They came and attempted to repair the valve however it was too corroded and needed to be replaced. The repair was done in an efficient timeline and the work is very well done, however the final bill was quite expensive. Overall we are pleased with the outcome.

Yeah, haven't even seen the plumber yet. Scheduled a time for 10 - 2 at my condo which had to shut off the water during this time period for the ENTIRE association. They knew I lived in a condo and said that they should be here around 10. Turns out it's now 1pm and they are still not here, rescheduling for another water shut off will take time since it will affect all the condo units and the HoA does not want back to back shut offs (for obvious reasons since it is an inconvenience to everyone living in the condo association).So calling these people didn't help, one told me that was the time range they should be at the job site, despite the fact that the original rep i talked to told me that they will be there at 10 and will call 30 mins prior to getting there. Then they give me an excuse (after calling out that they were supposed to be on call 24/7), that they had 2 people on vacation, 1 plumber on all day call, and last plumber having a job taking longer than scheduled. So why overbook your appointments if you only have 1 person on actual call? Not to mention once she found out that the plumber was on the way (this was at 12, it's been an hour and no sign of the plumber) she promptly hung up, after I told her that the plumber needs to call me so that i can give them the number to the HoA to speak to the maintenance guy about the water shut offs. Just ok, then hang up.worst service I've ever dealt with. Figured we'd go here because of all these great reviews but I guess not. Should've just gone with a friend of mine instead.Not worth dealing with again.Update:Plumber came at 1:25pm, and stated that replacing the shutoff valve plus redoing the drainage pipe would cost ~$415 (he gave a 15% discount) and stating that it's going by the book prices that's been put out by this company. So not only were they late by almost 3.5 hours but the company over charges. Being extremely frustrated and tired with this overall situation, and working with the HoA to extend the water off time that was already set, I just went with it.Worst experience I've ever had with ANY COMPANY EVER. I strongly do not recommend. And looking at a review from 3 months ago seems that I wasn't the only case that this has happened to.P.S.Plumber was nice and understanding (I have nothing against him since he had a job that took longer and he's the only plumber going to site to site that isn't at an all day job or on vacation) has to go by what the company set for prices. I called Roto-Rooter when I broke my snake trying to unblock my laundry drain. I was unable to remove the snake from my drain, and the drain was completely blocked. I called Roto-Rooter on a Saturday evening, and I was able to get an appointment the next day. The serviceman, Ron (#5592) arrived when expected. He was able to unblock my laundry drain and loosen the broken snake so it could be removed from the drain. The serviceman spent the time to make sure the drain worked properly. And in inspecting the drain pipe found a small leak, which he also repaired. I appreciated his diligence in making sure everything was working properly.

Bill was prompt, informative, and extremely knowledgeable of how the process was going to work. We had our Children and grand children coming over for Christmas and Bill saved the day. Roto-Rooter should clone him. In my opinion Bill is the epitome of what you would expect and more. First time trying Roto Rooter to fix my bathroom sink drain clogged due to a laundry washer water back flow issue. The subcontractor team is rude, not on time, not friendly, unprofessional, overpriced, and not willing to do the work. I switched to Johnson Bro Plumbing and they were able to fix all the drain issues and delivering their work with professionalism, great service and much more reasonable price! To the management team of Roto Rooter, please hire your technicians that knows good customer service! We as customer do not want to spend highly cost repair with horrible service. Do not waste your money & time with them! Zero Star! Zero customer service technicians!

We called Roto-Rooter because the set tub was draining very, very slowly, and we were concerned about a possible overflow. We were told that someone would be at our house between 12:30 - 2:30 that same day, despite not being an emergency situation. Although the technician did not arrive until about 3:30, Roto-Rooter was very good about calling and informing us about the delay, and provided us with a new expected arrival time. Upon reaching our house, the tech was courteous, professional, and informative. He took care of the problem quickly and efficiently, and provided tips on how to avoid clogged drains in the future. We needed a booster pump installed for a new irrigation system. It was a good amount of work. While other plumbers said it would be weeks before they could get here, these guys got the whole job done in one week. And the job they did was very professional, installing the pump in such a way as to minimize noise and required space. And they were a pleasure to work with. I couldn’t be happier with them or their work.

Joe did an excellent job removing a mystery glob from my sink drain. It turned out to be hard work to get it out. The probe was stuck in there for a while. Joe thought it must be a monster hairball, but I told him that nobody ever washed their hair in that sink. We still don't know what it was. The bathroom was a mess afterwards, but he cleaned everything up. It was well worth the money.

Response and service was great. Unclogged a blockage in the sewer line and everything was back to normal in one day. My only negative comment is I was charged $2000 for 3 hours work, no materials were needed except for some rags. I was also given an outrageous estimate to repair a belly in the sewer line . I won't be calling Roto Rooter again because of cost.

John (#5796) came to my home this week and did a terrific job resolving an issue with my bathroom plumbing. He was punctual, polite, and worked quickly and effectively. John clearly communicated the problem, how he planned to fix it, and what the approximate cost would be. I appreciated his work and would definitely use him in the future.

We had a clog in the waste line inside the house that caused a backup. Unfortunately, we didn't notice until there was water on the basem*nt floor. We called Roto-Rooter on Saturday morning and the technician, Stephen, arrived promptly for the appointment later that morning. He explained what was going to be done, how much it was going to cost, and provided updates as the work progressed. What was especially impressive was his conscientiousness throughout. After removing the clog, he not only checked that water flowed freely through the line but also ran a camera down to ensure that there wasn't anything else that could develop into a future problem. Although the connection to the city sewer line was not part of the problem, he also checked to verify that the line was clean, root-free and without sags that could potentially cause problems in the future. Given the amount of work that was required and the conditions where the work was done, it was nice to see that there were no surprises on the bill and the price quoted earlier was the price that we paid. We were very happy with the prompt, conscientious, and thorough service that Stephen and Roto-Rooter provided.

I had a late night toilet overflow and Roto-Rooter responded quickly to get someone to my house. Eric B (#6841) was quickly able to assess the problem and was thoughtful about the best approach to resolve the issue in the least messy way. He was great at providing information along the way to know what was going on and what his next steps would be.

After contacting 3 local plumbers regarding a sewer line back-up and receiving absolutely no response, we contacted Roto-Rooter. The reason I am giving them a 4 star and not 5 star is because when you call they will give you a 4 hour window for someone to call you back. When your sewer line is backed-up, 4 hours is a bit excessive.Received a call about an hour later that technician Patrick would be on his way. Patrick quickly diagnosed the problem and got to work quickly and efficiently to get our plumbing back in order. I also found Patrick to be very friendly and polite.I will certainly consider using Roto-Rooter again.

So delighted I called roto rooter! Steven and Dan were so professional and efficient. They cleared 2 stubborn drains in no time. My kitchen drain was so clogged it wouldn't drain. They removed the pipe and found it clogged. Awesome work. And very neat, even remembered to wear the booties in the house. Will definitely call again!

My sink stopped draining last Friday night so I had to wait until Monday to call a plumber to avoid weekend fees, but when I did, none of the local independent plumbers could come to my house in the evening when I'd be home. Roto-Rooter was my last choice and I wish now I had called them first--on Friday. I called around 4pm and someone was at my house by 7pm. Ron was friendly and explained to me exactly what the problem was before (and while) he fixed it (build-up from waste disposal in the old pipes), and how to avoid it happening again in the future (avoiding using the disposal is the best way, but I don't think I'll be giving that up anytime soon!). I was afraid he'd leave a mess on my kitchen floor and offered him a towel, but he said he'd take care of it and he did. Not a drop anywhere. My sink was cleared quickly and Ron was great. I couldn't be more pleased.

Ron was a great! He was here pretty late, 9 pm, but came in with a smile and was very efficient and knowledgeable. The problem was fixed within 30 minutes. He explained what it was in a way that we were able to understand and replaced the part that needed replacing. If we ever have another plumbing need, we hope Ron can come to our rescue!

Service tech Mike showed up and was very friendly upon greeting me. Told him I thought we had at a potential issue with tree roots in drain pipe causing overflow when washing machine drained. He explained what he would do in detail and ultimately wound up finding roots in the main pipe outside the house which he pulled out with the snake. He then explained I would receive a call from Roto Rooter to have someone come and put a camera down the pipe to ensure there are no larger issues and there was no extra cost. He checked the drain pipe from washing machine to the foundation where he snaked for the roots, found no issues, and had me run a wash cycle to ensure the water did not back up again. During each phase he was great about explaining things and ultimately ensuring that the main issue was resolved.He explained everything on the invoice and re-stated information about getting a call to have a camera put down the pipe. Nice to have such detailed and friendly people.

Last night we tried to install a toilet. The shut off valve broke behind the wall pouring water down the walls and into the basem*nt. I was able to get it to stop, but had no water in the house anymore. I called Roto-Rooter at midnight, and they were able to send me someone today early in the AM. He cut a hole in the wall, saving most of our tiles and fixed the problem in roughly 2 hours. Josh was very nice, explained everything thoroughly, and was friendly to my dogs (always a plus). I will definitely use Roto-Rooter again.

Over the weekend we were out and on Monday we came back and saw that our toilets were clogged and one of them backed up really bad. We were in a bind... we called a local plumber and he was too busy to come and then we looked up Roto Rooter and they came within the hour! The job was done before I was done cleaning and everything is working great! They guaranteed the service and even left me with some plumbing solution to help my pipes for no extra charge! I'm always calling Roto Rooters first from now on!

Stephen H was professional, fast, and very personable. Super friendly and even gave some tips on how to maintain it so we wouldn't get another drain problem. He removed a massive clog from years bygone that others had never pulled out. A bit expensive, but totally worth it.

They came to clear a clogged pipe to the main line. They did not clear and and still charged me a service fee of $339 and nothing was fixed. I had to call a different plumber the next day and pay that sane amount for them to actually clear my pipes. Waste of time and hard earned money

Instead of the toilet flushing as expected, the water backed up in the bowl, began to ooze out where the toilet meets the floor, and the bathtub started filling with the blue toilet water! Trying not to panic I called Roto Rooter for help. Ronnie showed up, efficiently assessed the situation and concluded we had a main line clog. Ronnie promptly put to use the equipment needed to root out the problem and in no time cleared the problem. He even helped clean up! Very professional, personable and effective, Ronnie restored our plumbing services so that our family could finish our evening routine as if nothing had ever happened.

Gilbert and Vincent did an amazing job resolving our frozen pipe situation. They were able to thaw the pipes quickly and without incident. They even came back a few minutes later of their own accord to check and see if our water heater had kicked off since we’d been without hot water for several hours - it had indeed turned off, and Gilbert reset it for us. And they came back a third time when the basem*nt shower had an issue after it finally thawed! They had been unable to access the pipes for that shower due to the design of the plumbing, but were able to make sure everything was in working order once those pipes thawed. Excellent service.

A slowly clogging main drain pipe came to a head on a Friday afternoon. Our regular plumber didn't carry the gear for such a large pipe and he suggested Roto-Rooter. We called dispatch at 4 pm and they said a tech could get out to the house at 8:00pm. They called back at 5:30. The tech would be there early, in about 30 minutes. Amazing, as we live closer to 495 than 95. Bob B #1137 arrived promptly. He's a kind, and soft spoken fellow. He calmly assessed the situation, and gave us a quote, without a hard sell. The price was exactly where we expected it would be. He thought it might take up to an hour. He worked for almost three hours. The drain pipe was a lot worse than he thought initially. He tackled a tough job on a Friday night with not a complaint nor gripe. He was a gentleman and saved us in a tough spot. Thank you, Bob.

I could not be more dissatisfied with the service. Not only did they no-show for appointments, they wanted $450.00 to simply remove a lint clog from my washing machine hose. I called ASAP Drains, they were here in less than 2 hrs and charged only $137.00.

I called for service on a Friday evening and I was offered an appointment within 2 hours of my call. They called me back within 60 minutes to stated that a technician was in route to my home and would be there shortly. The technician, Ernst arrived introduced himself and confidently assured me that he would not leave until both he and I were satisfied that he could do everything possible to fix the situation. He was able to trouble shoot and fix and test and shortly everything was fixed.

We had a sewage backup and overflow in our basem*nt late in the evening. I called hoping they had someone available. Sure enough you did and Gilbert was great. He was on time, easy to talk to and did a great job. He explained everything he had to do and why. I am very happy we chose Rotorooter to solve our issue. Today the cleanup crew came in to disinfect the spill area. First Tom Beaucage came tot eh house to assess the damage of the overflow. He helped me speak with my insurance company and set up a claim. he had his crew there working within the hour. These two gentlemen, I forgot their names, were awesome. They worked hard to scrub and clean the entire basem*nt area. I would recommend the entire team to anyone. Great job.

I had a very difficult clog in my bathroom drain. I called Roto-Rooter and they responded very promptly. Gary Tech # 777 was assigned to do the job. He arrived on-time, was very professional, and was very knowledgeable. He worked extremely hard and was very diligent at what he was trying to accomplish. Service was great, but the job cost 600.00 to address a slow tub drain. They said they could give price at arrival. The tub drains fine. Way too costly. I actually feel over charged just to snake tub.

This business isn't what I thought it was. I just wanted a bathroom sink unclogged. They wanted to change me $515 for some kind of warranty. The service was supposedly $615 and they applied a $100 discount. I declined and asked for just a non-waranty drain unclogging. They wouldn't do it. I sent them away and my drain is still clogged.They also blocked my driveway and obstructed a road near a blind spot. For my location this isn't unusual, but it's annoying.

Ron (#5592) was here in less than an hour, in a snowstorm, in the two hour quoted window. He was friendly, thorough and explained what was wrong, and how to fix it (garbage disposal was shot & clogged) he even offered to stay if one of us wanted to run to Home Depot to get a new one to install while he was there. He was also extremely conscious of any puddles or excess water that may have splashed while helping us. I hope we don’t need to call again anytime soon, but if so I would call roto-rooter again and ask if Ron was available.

We called on a Sat and they were able to have someone come in on Labor Day Monday. The company does a good job in keeping track of their plumbers and personnel. The plumber, Mike, was very professional and good at problem solving. He was able to fix our toilet which got an totally eroded wax seal and rusted iron gasket.

We called Roto Rooter to unclog the main drain to our house. We were told they would be here within two hours. They showed up in less than hour, explained what the process would entail, performed the work, told us what they found and how to prevent it from happening in the future. They were extremely polite, friendly and very helpful. We plan on using them for future plumbing needs.

I called on a Saturday and a live, helpful person answered the phone and had a plumber here within the hour. I could not reach my usual plumber. I don't tend to write many reviews. We had a major sink blockage that went into the tub. This was on Columbus Day weekend on a Sunday Roto-Rooter took a little while to get to use but they still did. I was thinking because it was 9 at night the tech would be extremely unhappy to have to come here. This was far from what I found. When Ron number 5592 showed up my wife and I were pleasantly surprised on how nice his demeanor was. He took a quick look came back and fixed it and was extremely personable. The price was a little high but it was an emergency. If I could give Ronnie more stars I would. thank you.

The guy arrived on time and fixed the problem. But he had to go get a part and the place is about 10 minutes away. It is a common part but he said the plumbing supply didn’t have the part and he had to go to 2 other places! Come on- it was lunch time and went for lunch. The piece he replaced I was charged $65 for and I previously bought the piece for under $10 but couldn’t find it. So what could have been a 90 minute job (including getting the part) cost $650! I’m never calling RotoRipOff again.

Noticed an awful smell coming from our basem*nt only to find that our slop sink had overflowed with laundry water and garbage disposal debris. Not what you want to find, especially at 8:30pm. Called Roto-Rooter and was given a 4hr window for service. Convinced that we were in for a late night, we were pleasantly surprised when they arrived in less than an hour! They quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to snake the main exit line under the house and fix the problem. The whole time, Ernst and Eudis had an upbeat attitude and were very professional. They explained everything as they went along and we couldn't have asked for better service. The whole appt took about an hour and they did an excellent clean up as well. Best $475 we could have spent, especially for a late night last minute service call!!

The Roto Rooter technician, Damian #639, was prompt, friendly, and informative. He explained what was being done and was rather persistent to locate the source of the problem and find a solution. This took some time as the plumbing set up in our house is less than easy to access. The professional approach, mixed with a personal touch, yielded a very favorable experience. I discovered our basem*nt toilet clogged about 10 pm on a Friday night. The plunger was of no use. Immediately called Roto Rooter and explained the problem. The lady who answered was polite, informative and professional. She asked to allow 4 hours for the plumber to arrive. To my surprise, the plumber arrived in a half hour. He also was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I explained the problem, he assessed it, grabbed the needed tools and went to work. Within 25 minutes, the main line was unclogged. Hooray! I was very nervous about my wife, toddler and infant waking up along with not using any wayer due to the main line being basked up. Roto Rooter saved the night. I recently had an emergency plumbing issue. Once I attempted to unclog the toilet it turned into a water fall of of horrid disgusting messes. This time I called Roto Rooter to come to the rescue on a weekend evening.No way was I going to attempt this again. The service man Ron was very pleasant in repairing the clogged flush saying to much paper was used. He cleaned the area with spray and paper towels making sure nothing dripped on my floors as he brought it back out to his truck. He also mentioned about a coupon on line. Money is tight this time of year so he told me about it, which he didn't have to. So thankful for such an understanding, thoughtful service man who truly cares about customers. To bad not every service person wasn't as awesome as Ron.

A technician showed up with a $79 travel fee to replace the kitchen disposal unit - quoted $850 for that.Update - company management called me and reiterated that $850 is what the company charges for disposal replacement.A new disposal unit costs $100-$150 and takes about 30 minutes to install for anyone with experience, so perhaps $350 would be reasonable?I guess it makes sense to the company to walk away with $79 for 5 minutes of a technician's 'diagnosis' time, but they will not get any more business from me.

Had a block in main sewage pipe. Backed up into basem*nt. What a mess! This is the 2nd time I have used them. You can call other plumbers in an emergency and wait hours or days for a return call. RR will ALWAYS call back in a timely manner. They will help in insurance matters and basically take all the anxiety out of the situation. They are so well organized, professional and take care of the smallest details. From the supervisors to the cleanup crew... they are the best in the business!

Called RotoRooter and was met with very helpful dispatcher who said someone would be available in one hour. Since it was my first time using RotoRooter I was doubtful, but within that time Ron showed up ready and willing to fix the main water line back-up.My washing machine had backed up into the toilet and the entire bathroom floor was flooded. He quickly assessed the problem which was located in a tiny crawlspace under the house (lots of spiders), with very little light and lots of dirt. He immediately got to work and unclogged the line that was closest to the city line. All was cleared - the toilet flushed, the washing machine drained, and Ron left a helpful hint regarding keeping the drains clear. Thanks for great service!

I was charged $750 to snake my toilet. When the technician attempted to do so he realized there was a break in the pipe. Didnt resolve the problem and was only here for 30 minutes. I called to talk to cusotmer service and they refused to help or reduce the cost. I would use anyone else.

My kitchen drain was clogged bringing everything to a screeching halt as far as being able to wash dishes and even prepare meals.I called Rotorooter and they sent Ron #5592 to help. Ron got straight to work hauling all his needed equipment in and got right to snaking out the drain clog. It was a really bad clog but he was relentless and didn’t quit until the sink was draining like brand new. I really appreciate rotorooter sending such an experienced person to take care of the problem the first time correctly instead of having to return repeatedly like other companies would have. Thanks again Ron for taking such good care of my house and my family.

Be sure to get other quotes. These guys were upward of $500 more than other companies to replace my HW heater, parts and labor. Crazy. They are predators.They did come within the 4 hour window they provided and charged me a $69 consult fee. Other companies do not have or will wave if you ask them. They do not give any prices over the phone.Wish I had done a bit more calling around before requesting their services.I do not recommend. At all.

The service technician was knowledgeable and helpful and fixed the problem. What I did not appreciate is the fact that when I called requesting service, I was not advised that it would be $565 if he was here 10 minutes or 10 hours. I didn't know that until the tech was here at 730 in the evening and he told me he needed a check for that amount. As a senior, it was quite overwhelming. He was here two hours. You should have some sort of sliding scale for your services. It would have to be a dire emergency for me to use you again.

Kitchen sink was clogged and I tried everything with no success. I called and got a quick response. Gilbert arrived and within minutes he unclogged the drain. He was very professional and had a good sense of humor. It was well worth the money.

Charles was great! Very knowledgeable and respectful. Price was a little more than expected called originally for a clog due to the age of the pipe it ruptured and the trap needed to be replaced. Which was understandable. The pipe was over 100 years old and stuff happens.Overall great experience would recommend.

I scheduled my appointment on line which was very convenient and was called immediately to confirm my appointment & to explain the Covid 19 procedures currently in practice. I was also told that my service person would call 1/2 hour before arriving. Every thing went according to plan. The plumber who came was clear in his explanation and very personable. He was willing to speak with my insurance adjuster to explain the situation and he did so in a very professional manner. He explained his write up of the situation in his invoice and wrote all pertinent information for the insurance company. I was impressed with this technician. I have called Roto- Rooter several times and will continue to call them for my plumbing needs.

I had a terrible smell ( like something died) coming from all of my drains and feared the worst. I got help from Ralph at Roto-Rooter within an hour and because it was only a matter of using an enzyme solution to treat the bacteria that was causing the odor, I was not even charged for the visit. I bought 2 gallons, used about 2 cups total and ran it through all my pipes and we were all clear and odors disappeared the next day. This was one of my best experiences with professionals who help me take care of my house. I now plan to do this process monthly. Thank you, Roto-Rooter!

Roto-Rooter postponed the service visit a couple of times, first to later the same day, then to the following day (I live in moderately populated region of the Boston metro area). They kept me informed, and did call when the plumber was nearly here. The plumber was competent and courteous, and fixed the minor, but difficult-to-detect, problem.

I couldn’t believe when I called to book an appointment and they had availability that day. On top of that, Ron was great. He arrived right promptly, was very professional and got my kitchen sink flowing in no time.

I had a toilet that kept running and therefore was running up the water bill. The RR man fixed it on Friday but told me he wasn’t sure it would hold. Neither was I as we’ve had it for many years and problems with it for some time. We talked about finally replacing it. I knew it was time and a replacement would save me a great deal of money, so he and another gentleman came today and I now have a new one. I’m very happy — except it’s so quiet now. 😉

The technician 'Gilbert' did a great job and was extremely informative. I feel like I got my moneys worth. Was here an hour and a half after calling and did his job thoroughly as well as educated me in a lot of things.

We had a sewage backup in our basem*nt (ugh!). We used Roto Rooter for one step in the process -- getting our sump pump back up and running. The tech who came to our house (Eudis) was prompt and extremely personable and professional. He also knew his stuff, as our pump was working like new in minutes. In general he seemed like one of those hard-working, soft-spoken, detail- and quality-oriented people who just does a really great job without a lot of fuss. Would call them again in a minute.

Overall, I was very happy with Roto-Rooter. Christian came around 9PM, or so and completed the unclogging of my sink/disposal drain within an hour. He was very helpful and told me what he was doing and how to avoid the problem in the future. We were very happy with his work. The only issue was that the price was a bit high.

Mike showed up and quickly determined what the problem was. He got right to work and we were good as new in no time at all. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Will call again but I hope I won’t have to!

After a nightmare of a time finding an oven that was compatible with my apartments gas line, Roto Rooter was able to install it when I wasn't even sure it was possible! Generally not happy with results. Plumber was great but was unable to solve problem at a reasonable rate. On site a little over half hour..removed about 14x16 piece of sheet rock..confirmed leak and offered advise. Stopped at my request. Paid invoice for $250. Not as advertised on phone call or internet.

Shocked by the price. Next time I’ll shop around for a plumber. My shower wasn’t draining well, and it seems a little better for $645. Probably 10-20 mins of work.

This was the first time I ever used Roto-Rooter. It was a Tuesday evening when I called and within 20 minutes Bob Tech 1137 and Garett showed up around 8pm. They were there for a few hours. They were phenomenal! I had no idea what to expect having never used this company before. And it can be a bit unnerving to have strangers show up at your house that you don’t know especially in the evening. Well, Bob and Garett far exceeded whatever my expectations were. Made me so comfortable from the get go. I have cognitive challenges but Bob explained everything to me from start to finish on what they had to do and what would happen in a way I understood. I had a major clog that when I flushed the toilet upstairs my downstairs toilet overflowed. I had just moved into this home in October so I was very concerned. When Bob and Garett finished, Bob told me that my son's bathtub was full with sewer but he cleaned it up! It never occurred to me to look in the bathtub. He went over and above what is expected. That is amazing customer service, a rarity to find these days. The pricing was very reasonable and I asked if I needed to be on a service contract (most companies would jump at that question) and Bob said nope. Gave me instructions on how treating my pipes going forward. As late as it was when they finished, (around 10:30pm) you would never know they were on the job all day. They made me feel reassured and like I was their only customer even though they told me they had emergencies throughout the day. I loved the idea of the technology of having a camera look through my pipes to make sure all is okay. Having just moved into this home we worried some pipes might be cracked or leaking and it turns out we were all clear. That technology provides such a level of comfort to the customers. The camera person called within minutes of Bob and Garett leaving and was at my house two days later. Thanks again Bob and Garett for making what could have been a nightmare seem like it was a nothing. You guys rock!!

The Roto-Rooter staff showed up within an hour of my call. He was very pleasant and courteous. He asked questions and talked about what he was going to do. He was able to find the blockage and fix the issue. I was very pleased with the service today from the moment I called. The person on the phone was equally very good to work with. Thank you!

I had two techs at my home today. One who cleared my main sewer pipe Edegio (I pray I spelled it right)and the other Joe Emory who quoted me a $ to make sure my issue won’t happen again. Although they were here at different times but on the same day they both displayed awesome and honest do’s dont’s and explanations with great customer service! And they both showed up in amicable time now that’s great customer service! Thanks guys

I’d like to point out this review has nothing to do with the technician sent out. They were extremely professional and could not have been nicer. My only problem was the pricing. It was way too expensive. Average cost to snake a drain is $300. I paid double that through roto rooter. Double. Would have been a positive experience otherwise. Next time I’ll rent a snake.

Our service from Roto Rooter was great. The technician clearly explained the issue and options for addressing it. He got right to work and worked quickly. He was friendly and courteous throughout the whole experience.

I had a clogged storm drain in my driveway. I called to set up an appointment. The technician did not show up at the 4 hours window of time they gave me. instead I kept getting calls from their office that the technician is in the neighborhood and just finishing another job. 3 hours after the time, I got a call from a technician saying that he can come now, but that I should know they will be charging me a flat rate of $1,200 regardless of the actual work. I of course declined. I ended up call a different firm (John's Sewer) which provided a timely, professional service at 1/3 of the fee !!!I will never again consider calling Roto-Rooter.

Depression turned to elation when the Roto-Rooter crew arrived to take care of the plugged garbage disposal and kitchen drain. As they (John & Shan) worked, they explained what they were doing, why and very importantly what to do to delay its happening again. I like that. They told me the route the pipes took through the house and where problems might occur. The entire procedure was accomplished in a professional manner and a reasonable amount of time. They also took time to explain why I was unable to remove the drain in the bathroom sink for cleaning. No more Liquid Plumber purchases for me. I can clean it regularly with a turn of the wrist. They were knowledgeable, polite and efficient. I will not hesitate to call Roto-Rooter again, should I have a plumbing problem.

My wife and I discovered a clog in our bathroom sink, and it got much worse in a very short period of time. We called Roto-Rooter on a Sunday and they sent out Stephen immediately.Our problem turned out to be much more complicated than originally anticipated, but Stephen was very persistent and after hours of troubleshooting, he was able to resolve the problem. He was very professional and left where he worked clean. I would definitely use Stephen again.

Sewage backup is no fun. Joe arrived and was very professional, knowledgeable, respectful and understanding. He explained very clearly what the problem was and made suggestions as to what needed to be done to alleviate the ongoing issue. I feel confident that my worries have been resolved.

My husband tried to unclog the main drain the entire day. We finally gave up and called in the professionals. Stephen H and Ryan K came in to save the day. We only have only bathroom and all the floss caused the blockage. They worked quickly to unclog, gave us information of common wrong things people do like flush floss and hair.They were very nice and professional. Great job guys!

A bit too expensive. The guy that came was great and a professional but the job cost way too much for what I needed done. Next time my local plumber (hopefully they will be available) will have my business. At least they don't try and rip people off during the pandemic. If they didn't price gouge they would have gotten a higher rating.

Met Charles F. 4936 at elderly mothers home. This guy was very cheerful and personable to both mom and me. Had a tough clog to take care of, and stayed with it until the job was done. Had a clogged kitchen sink and needed a plumber on a Sunday. Roto rooter came up on google with 24/7 schedule and high rating so I thought I'd give them a try. The first problem was that they were more than 4 hours late from the 12-2pm window they gave us, arriving around 6:30pm. Second, the leader of the 2-man group (will not mention name but let's call him Ralph), quoted $350, saying he was giving us a discount from the regular $465 because we were his last job. When I said I thought rates were supposed to be in the $200 range, he remarked that I must be the one who handles the money in the house (odd thing to say), that those were mid-west rates, and that we couldn't find MA rates close to that. So we settled on $325, despite having a distinct feeling of being gouged. To top it all, my husband initially suggested to check the U-pipe of the sink itself before snaking, but Ralph insisted on snaking first, taking half an hour before giving up and then finding out the problem really was with the U-pipe (as my husband suggested), which took a few more minutes to suck out with a wet vac. The whole job took around an hour. Definitely not worth the $325! We found out later that a MA plumber on Angie's list said the going rate was $195. We are really annoyed but just chalking this down to experience, --we should have listened to our better instincts. At least the sink seems to be working now. But if you don't have a pressing need, go elsewhere!

3 stars ---horrible scheduling but awesome technician. Roto-rooter definitely needs to work on the call-center scheduling. I booked a window of 8-11am and the plumber didn't arrive until 11:30. I was much later going into work than planned. However, the plumber was great --solved the problem quickly and let me stand over him so I could learn what he was doing.

The technician arrived earlier than expected. He was very quick and professional and explained everything he was doing. They were a little pricey but they're worth it in every way

Unreliable, rude, unprofessional and incompetent. Basem*nt flooded and needed urgent help. Called this company and booked an urgent visit for someone to attend in 2 hours. No one showed after 3 hours so I called to chase up. Only to be spoken to my Thomas (rude, unprofessional, condescending and unsympathetic).I explained that the drainage system is blocked/back-up and he immediately responded without even listening to me that it's not the company's problem and that I would have to call the city. He told he couldn't help me because I could not explain why the flood happened. Of course I wouldn't know which is why I'm asking for help. I asked him to clarify why an appointment was booked in the morning and he said that his colleague was ill-informed. I repeated that I needed urgent help and wanted to speak to a manager. He lied saying the manager was not at his desk.Just rude, unprofessional and disgraceful service.

People call it roto ripoff for a reason. They're as competent as any of the other drain companies in town but cost two or three times as much. They have opaque pricing and annoying sales tactics. Sometimes when the drain is clogged and you need it fixed now you don't have a choice, but if you do then please go with someone else.

I found myself needing Roto-Rooter at 8:30 pm on Friday night after a long 12-hour shift because a dog knocked a cat food can into the toilet and somebody flushed it down (we weren't aware of this at the time). Shane (#6528) arrived 15 minutes prior to the expected time and after some pain in the a** work was able to free the obstruction! He was very patient and knowledgeable as well as transparent about what needed to be down. Highly recommend Roto-Rooter in Stoughton, but hopefully will not need them again!

Had to wait a substantial amount of time beyond the original service window for the technician to arrive. Once he was here he was competent, efficient, answered all my questions and took care of the issue successfully. The cost of the service was an eye opener but I’ve been fortunate enough not to need this type of service before so can’t tell if the price is typical.

Ron was friendly, professional and resolved the clog quickly. I had frequent updates on the status during the day which was helpful as well. It was a great overall service experience.

It was okay. We had to supply a shop vac and vacuum ourselves..not too sure why the techs do not have this on their truck, and perhaps 2 on a call such as this. He also tried to charge an additional hour. I'm glad that we read over the paperwork before signing. Other than all of that, We were happy with the results and such.

Our master bathroom sink developed a clog on a Sunday. The customer service rep I spoke with offered a Monday morning appointment as the clog wasn't critical (no water flooding the bathroom plus we have an additional bathroom) with notification to occur on Monday morning. A prompt phone call was received at 7:30 AM stating that a service technician would arrive between 8:30 AM - 9 AM. Dominic #1436 arrived on time, was very professional, explained the process, gave an estimate, and proceeded to complete the work and clean up very professionally. We would highly recommend this service and Dominic.

I called Roto-Rooter in a pinch, on a Sunday, and they came to the rescue! To be specific, Joe came to the rescue! His service, knowledge, and overall professionalism was above and beyond what I expected. As a first time homeowner, with let's just say a lot of questions, Joe answered every single one with honesty. You can tell he really knows his stuff! Even though he couldn't fix the problem, (it's structural) he made recommendations for the next steps and got the ball rolling for us. He even helped ease my mind by going over my options and further explaining to me about the financing that's available. It really helps when expensive and unexpected issues arise. Although I have received fast and friendly service from my local Roto-Rooter technician on two occasions, both times I was forced to reschedule the service appointment three times. (Do you follow? It's confusing, I know.)It is hard to determine if this is a function of my region's location (Western MA) being understaffed, or simply poor communication between customer service representatives, but these two experiences have certainly soured me on Roto-Rooter. This is unfortunate, since the technician is always transparent and communicative, and the prices are fair, but having to miss days of work waiting around for someone who may or may not arrive is beyond frustrating.

Charles (#4936) was the best! We had an emergency with our toilet and he was here within the hour. Walked us through all the steps and even helped to take apart a shelf to install the toilet. Cleaned up the workspace and did an amazing job!

Had my sewer line relined. From the inspection to quote to the work, they were fast, efficient, courteous, and well worth every penny. Fixed a long occurring problem and allowed peace of mind that I won't be having any sewage issues for a long time to come. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of work done.

Let me start out by saying that I am never happy whenever I have to spend money on any type of service call as I own an old home, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised when the technicians showed up over an hour earlier than I had been promised.
