Repurposed scaffolding as homemade furniture.

A cheap and sturdy material for making furniture.

Though you might want to discuss it, the trend of garden furniture with scaffold materials has most likelystarted in the Netherlands.
Itmay not be the correctto calltheDutch population cheap or greedy, but they are nevertheless people which are considered to be fairly carefullwith their expenses.

There arealwaysa lot of scaffolding planks which have become unusable.
Often you can find large piles of unused scaffold wood laying around on building sites.
Therefore it is no surprisethat some of the constructionworkers decided to take some of these old planks home.

Butfor thedo it yourself enthousiasts these scaffold planks are still perfect to work with.

Nowadays a large part of Dutch garden furniture consists of tables, chairs and lounge benches made of scaffolding wood.

As a substitute for the old and weathered planks which derive from the scaffolds, many hobbyists have now started to make the garden furniture from new wood.
This is a result of the good quality old scaffolding wood becoming scarce, due to the now very high demand.

Apart from the old and weathered scaffold planks, the scaffolding tubes can also be used to make furniture.
