Professor Nutty Nut Meg better known as The Professor is a recurring antagonist sometimes an anti-hero of the Felix the Cat franchise, he's main goal is him attempting to steal Felix's Magic Bag in any way he can to use for world domination. He appeared as a supporting protagonist in the Felix the Cat Movie, and as the main antagonist of Felix the Cat Saves Christmas.

he was voiced by Jack Mercer in the 1959 cartoon, Chris Phillips in the movie, and Jason Marsden in Felix the Cat Saves Christmas.

Personality[]

He is shown to have a unhealthy obsession with Felix's Magic Bag of Tricks, he will go to great lengths to acquire it in any way he can. He is shown to be greedy going as far to steal just to make some cash, he also uses his intellect for selfish and sometimes villainous means. He is shown to care a lot about his nephew, Poindexter. He can also help Felix sometimes with defeating a bigger threat them himself such as Master Cylinder or The Duke of Zill.

And he isn't always a malicious individual to Felix, he sometimes is just a annoyance more than an actual threat.

Biography[]

Series[]

He appears as the main antagonist of the 1959 series, right behind Master Cylinder who is far worse than he is. He often thinks of schemes with his right-hand Rock Bottom to steal Felix's Bag. occasionally he doesn't go after Felix's bag with him stealing a plant that Felix made that produces solid gold, he stole it so he could make himself rich in the process. In some episodes it was shown deep down he has a heart of gold underneath his grouchy personality.

The Movie[]

He appeared as supporting antagonist in the movie where he with Poindexter went to the land of Zill following Felix to once again steal the bag from him, he would later become a ally to Felix and help him end The Duke of Zill's reign of terror.

The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat[]

He appeared as a one-shot antagonist appearing in the episode "Attack of the Robot Rat" Under the name "The Mad Doctor" along with Rock Bottom (LeadFanny} here they attempt to steal the bag by creating a giant robot rat to destroy Felix and use the bag's powers to take over the world. Felix using his wits defeats the robot and The Professor once again is humiliated.

Felix the Cat Saves Christmas[]

He appeared as the main antagonist creating a invention to freeze the entire town so Christmas wouldn't be celebrated by causing a long blizzard of snow, Felix and Poindexter would stop him by going to his laboratory, here he talks about his sad backstory of when he was young how he was never invited to do any Christmas activities with the other kids, he always coal for Christmas instead of presents that he wanted. And how no one understood his genius making him feel like a outcast from society, Which is the reason why he is today most likely.

Heroic Actions[]

• In "Master Cylinder King of the Moon" He travels all the way to the moon to rescue Poindexter and begrudgingly Felix who were being held hostage by Master Clyinder.
• In "The Master Cylinders Spacegram" After being freed from his chains by a martian in disguise, he along with Felix decide to go and save Poindexter from General Clang who is forcing him to make secret rocket fuel to blow up earth. This shows that The Professor can put aside his differences and help Felix when the time comes.
• In "Venus and the Master Cylinder" He sends Poindexter to Master Cylinder to be his pupil in exchange for him getting a million dollars, he did this as he thought it would be a good experience for his nephew. He regrets this later however when Master Cylinder enslaves Poindexter and uses him for his own means, he later goes to rescue Poindexter.
• In "Stone Making Machine" He and Rock use a machine that would make Felix into a statue, Rock breaks down into tears over the idea of turning Felix into stone, The Professor comforts him telling him it's for the better of mankind. This shows that despite how bad he treats Rock sometimes he does care about him much like how he does Poindexter.
• In "Public Enemies One and Two" He along with Rock Bottom, Poindexter, Marty the Martian, and surprisingly Master Cylinder all celebrate Felix's birthday.
• In "Felix the Cat: The Movie" He helps Felix and allies end the Duke of Zill's tyranny of the Land of Zill, saving the zillians from a horrible leader, he was forced however by Felix to do this and he also only did it so he could get closer to his Magic Bag.
• In "Felix the Cat Saves Christmas" After getting imprisoned for causing a huge blizzard with one of his inventions, Santa forgives him for this act and gives him a present, he is touched by this act and redeems himself learning the true meaning of Christmas.
