Airports fall within the group of hard targets, with the Airport Security overseeing airport checkpoints to ensure the security of the air system. The Airport Security uses sophisticated technologies to prevent and deter threat items like explosives and firearms from entering the secure side of airports. #SECURITY: European Commission announces €30m fund for the protection of public spacesThe #EuropeanCommission has issued acall for proposals for the protection of public spaces under the Internal Security Fund (ISF), with a budget of €30m (US$32m).The call for proposals states that public spaces in the EU, such as transportation hubs, have become the target of #terrorist attacks. The fund will finance projects aiming to improve the security of public spaces, with a focus on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats; trafficking of firearms; use of explosives detection dogs; threats posed by non-cooperative drones; and the protection of places of worship. Are we to presume Governor DeSantis registered with DDTC and received all appropriate export authorizations to export any ITAR and/or EAR-controlled items to Israel? This article also describes Governor DeSantis engaging in brokering (ITAR Section 129). Are we also to presume he registered as a broker and sought authorization from DDTC prior to “help[ing] get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties.” If not, the Governor should submit a voluntary disclosure before DDTC reaches out to him. #ITARCompliance https://lnkd.in/eC9-tQgY

When the primary fear was boardings, ships began displaying messages saying “armed guard onboard...TankerTrackers.com highlights in its posting on X (formerly Twitter) that it identified a new message attempting to say we are not involved in your fight. The tracking and analytics company detected several vessels using a new tactic, posting a message they called “interesting". "TheKriti State, a 76,500 dwt crude oil tanker registered in Liberia and sailing from Novorossiysk, Russia, was the first vessel TankerTrackers.com detected using a message to say it was not associated with Israel. TankerTrackers.com posted an image to X showing the tanker displaying the message “VSL No Cntact Israel.” The tanker is owned and managed out of Greece."It might have been a one-off, but an hour later TankerTrackers.com posted another image on X showing a similar message from theXin He Lu 1, a containership registered in Liberia. At last check, the 46,350 dwt vessel still has that message on its AIS display. The 46,350 dwt/3429 TEU containership owned and managed out of China is also outbound from Novorossiysk, Russia, but a decade ago appears to have operated under charter to the Israeli shipping company Zim.
